What are your dream machines yet to be found?
A 1973/74 Whirpool undercounter dishwasher.This was the 1st appliance I remember as a child. I remember the sound of the machine running at age 4 or 5 and the rest is history! I have been hooked ever since. Loved moms Western Auto / Norge 20lb washing machine. Got into alot of trouble for washing 1 rag with 1 cup of tide when I was six. But hey the rag never looked so clean :-)
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Would have to be when I came home from my babysitters house and the Whirlpool DW mom had was thundering and rumbling away in the kitchen. I remember distinctly running into the kitchen for something to drink and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw/heard the machine running. Mom could not get me out the whole night. I also loved standing on a chair next to moms Western Auto washer watching her load the clothes and setting the control and being allowed the privilge of pulling the timer knob out to start the cycle. And hanging around to see it start washing and watching the water spray out of the agitator and into the lint filter that fit over it. The 1964 Frigidaire washer had died when mom and dad married and was still sitting off to the side of the Western Auto. I remember that being my play washer. I knew then that these were a hot commodity in these circles. I would have made mom save it so I could restore it.

I have made some minor repairs to my old 1979 Whirlpool electric dryer when the heating element broke.
