    A806S

Comparison to A208 Cadman: Nice pictures! The style is very similar to my A208, however, there are some differences. Yours appears to be large capacity, whereas mine is standard, with a grey tub. My Powerfin has only four vanes, with openings under the post to pull water through the lint...

adjusting water level in NEW F/L's

Adjusting Water Levels in FL's I agree with Launderess. You never know what else in the machine you might be harming by cheating them into a higher water level. My Bosch has options for adding rinses, but they are not any deeper than the ones built into the cycles. Still, they do a great job.

    Home Page Frigidaires

Is anyone else not seeing the Frigidaire action stream on the home page after logging in? I recently installed some security software on my PC to help control the ANNOYING amount of spyware that was installing itself, but ever since then, I seem to be having even more problems!!!! Pete

    Maytag A108 parts question

Maytag A208 Repair Hello - I finally plugged in and tested my Maytag that I bought from Salvation Army. I have cold water in my garage, which I figured is enough to test the major components. Everything seemed to work fine, including the timer, lid switch, and two-speed agitation. The...

    Question for petebldg9

That apparent E-Bay description is silly. It doesn't do that. Just buy it - new. End of thread.

    Memo to "petebldg9"

Steve - sorry I didn't reply sooner. I'm glad you have a copy coming to you, and good luck with your repair(s). Based on another member's reply, my A208 appears to have been made in 1976. I'm not sure if the manual covers that model, but if yours is earlier, it will probably suit you perfectly...

So what else are we into?

jasonl: Automatic car washes? How cool...I used to love it when my Dad would take me along for the ride when I was about 5 or 6. As an adult, they became strictly functional to me, and I only run my truck through about every three months - if it's insanely dirty. When I saw your response, I...

    laundy 1973

Thanks! Partscounterman: Thanks for the reply. I checked my machine afterwards and it fits your descriptions. For the heck of it, I tried removing the agitator last night, thinking it would be really difficult. It popped right up. The post and splines appear to be in really good condition. I...

    Question for petebldg9

Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to post pictures. It makes some noise while pulsating, but nothing offensive. The full automatic cycle is about 40 minutes: 15 minutes for the wash, then 3 rinses of different lengths. It comes with all hoses, and fills from the top rim, with a...

    laundy 1973

Maytag Partcounterman: Great ad! The Maytag A606 looks identical to the A208 I recently acquired for restoring, down to the number of push-buttons. Do you know what the difference is between these two model numbers, or are they the same machine? Also, I've been trying to hunt down the exact...

Mr. Clean in your Washing Machine?

I remember the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer. I used it a few times in school, and remember it being unscented. As for that old advertisement, it's just plain cruel.

    Maytag A208

Does anyone have recommendations on manuals I can use to help me restore this machine? Luckily, I'm finding that there are a ton of factory parts available on the internet, as this seems to have been one of Maytag's most popular models. Also (and I know I'm a ways off from this), does anyone...

    stain removers

The Shout gel with the orange scrubber top really works well. Also, any unused gel on the scrubber liquifies and pours back into the bottle. It's great on stains of all sorts, and is convenient as a pre-treater....sometimes, I'll treat the stain days before washing, with good results. Pete
