What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
-My grandmothers HA/HDE 806 washer/dryer set. I was infatuated by the lighted console of both units, the smooth quiet hum of the motor/trans of the washer, and the end of cycle "ding" of the dryer.
Bypassing the lid switch on the 1986 A490 Maytag washer while watching it go through its cycles. 30+ years later, its still a thrill.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Not much has been thrown away mostly because everything is vintage, built like a tank, runs forever, and easily repaired. I plan to keep it that way until my ashes scatter the earth.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Yep, had my hands inside every single machine in my collection. Most have been torn down and restored. Currently custom making certain NLA Maytag parts, including some that were never available from the factory.
