    Is this oil leak 'normal'?

Yes! Wow. How could I forget that. It's a wringer. Model N2LP. I'm not sure if this is a common leak point or not. Tightening the bolts would be a great idea to try. Thanks.

    Is this oil leak 'normal'?

Hi guys- This oil leak is very slow. I wiped it away last week, and thought it was old news, but a week later on wash day I peeked under the hood and noticed same couple 'runs'. Are they coming from what's called the right angle drive? Horizontal shaft? Either way it's coming from the vicinity...

How do I fix this? Brainstorm with me please...

Hi Yogi- JB weld and a ton of super glue seemed to do the trick. For who knows how long, that is the question. If anyone has this part (shaft and wheel) from a junker, let me know! Want to hear something crazy? I was washing today and a stretchy nylon undergarment got wound around the lower...

How do I fix this? Brainstorm with me please...

Hi guys, I'm trying to get the pump working on my Maytag N2LP. The shaft wheel broke free from the shaft/knurled nut and is actually stripped. It fits loose on there now. I've tried loads of teflon tape around the knurled nut with super glue, jamming the rubber wheel back onto the knurled...

    Preparing Maytag N2L for transport

Morning Scoots- I attached 3 photos, depicting this mornings batch of questions. I moved that black friction wheel with my finger and it seemed to be free spinning , though the pump shaft with knurled nut was frozen. I went ahead and removed the pump and it was caked with lint inside, enough...

    Preparing Maytag N2L for transport

I poured a few cups of vinegar down the drain and let it fill into the pump. Will let it sit overnight and flush with hot water. In fact I'm going away for a week, leaving in the morning. Would it be a bad idea to let vinegar sit inside the pump for a week? Not sure if flushing it out in the...

    Preparing Maytag N2L for transport

Hi guys- Thank you for the replies! Link was helpful, and scoots - exactly what I needed to know. Unfortunately I didn't get this message till now, but I won the washer for $50, just shy of $60 after bogus fees, but what does $60 get you these days??? Not much. It just so happens I...

    Preparing Maytag N2L for transport

Hello all- I am new here and I'd like to head out to an auction tonight where a seemingly nice (enough) Maytag N2L round tub wringer washer is. Trouble is the vehicle I have to transport it the 25 miles home does not have enough height clearance to allow for it to stand upright. I have a few...
