Re No electronic control panel but from repair instruction sheet and research I think it has inverter on motor. Can inverter be replaced seperately or do you have to replace whole motor Here is a pic of basket.

Re Wished there was a way to tell which part exactly is bad. As it stands could be motor, inverter, or transmission which includes bearing like someone has said it could be.

I have a top loader Hotpoint washer. It started what sounded like it was spinning faster than it should and was loud sounded like a jet. There was no clanking likeit was unbalanced just loud.finally it quit spinning altogether. The last time it spun it didn't get the clothes completely spun...
