The Maytag dependable care
I heard of a story of what I think was a 90s Maytag dependable care model that the transmission failed on it. The technician opened it up and found it had no oil in it. There was no oil underneath the machine either so the only option was that it came from factory...
Rollermatic,
Thanks!
to me it looks pretty terrible, does still work though! the outer tub is pretty badly rusted and leaks when spin drain is in operation. it was left in a barn for many years so it got pretty bad.
That's a cool collection you got there! Thanks for taking the time to look...
Someone brought this up!
I’m absolutely devastated that F&P got rid of the smart drive. It was a fabulous piece of engineering and worked great. They were always my go to brand for modern washers but now all I can really say is Speed Queen.
Recently a family members Simpson kicked the bucket...
Saw these a while back
What info is there about them?
I’d be intrigued to know more. I live in Melbourne so I could pick one up, but space is pretty limited at the moment.
Thanks for all your help!
I’ve managed to get the stuff to the tub sorted, so it can be used as a semi automatic machine without the heater. The switch is only required for the heater.
I’ll test tomorrow for leaks!
That’s great work.
Thanks for that!
I’ll have to look into that. How did you go about sealing it and connecting it to the outer drum? Did you have another piece that went inside the drum and through the pipe through to the other side? Or was it sealed using something else?
Either way, I’ll be...
Sorry for the misunderstanding
Hey Sean,
Thanks for the info! I may not have been clear but I was talking about what I think is some sort of pressure chamber. I have photos of what’s left of the pipe, what part of the tub it connects to and what part the hose attaches to. Also a different kind...
I’d put this in the shoppers square,
I think you might have more luck putting this in the shoppers square as a new post. Glad to hear the Speedqueen is doing well!
May have parts if needed
I recently acquired 2 free Miele W5741 machines, one had a bad logic board and the other had a broken spider. Managed to make a good one out of both. I stripped down the other machine entirely for parts and scrap (was in bad shape).
Hi Dominic,
Yeah, was a barn find. It had probably been sitting for decades. Surprising mechanically and electrically everything is perfect except for a bad spin bearing. It’s just the rust (which is causing severe leaks) and cosmetics that’s bad.
Hey Gizmo,
That’s awesome! I’ll definitely...
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for an agitator cap for a Jet cone agitator. Unfortunately my Frigidaire didn’t come with one so, I am on the hunt for one.
If anyone has one I’d be interested.
