They are my all time favorite washers. I get loads and loads done with no problems only thing is my washer will leak water if it over suds. They are memories of my childhood.My Maytags are pictured here

Bummer That's too bad for me and that nice dryer. Give it a second chance and try to sell it there's a market for old appliances like this dryer don't scrap it if it works that's a waste! thanks and best of luck buddy

Start small Try cleaning it then try and locate where the oil is seeping from it might be a crack in the caseing in that scenario I'd try to seal it with whatever you can

a can of worms be careful! before you start digging into this I would try to tighten any bolts around that part maybe their just loose. You don't want to open a can of worms on these old machines its gets complicated try to research as much as you can as always good luck

I had a feeling Thanks lorian furniture ! My washer isn't leaking alot I see some residue but nothing alarming. I just was thinking a little more oil wouldn't hurt but if it ain't broke don't try and fix it .

On belt drive washers how difficult is it to check and refill the transmission on a Kenmore belt drive washer? Is there a trick to get them maintain in order to last a long time or is it just a waste of time . Any tips?
