Result For completeness, I have undertaken a test using the house water meter and can confirm that the 'programme 5' wash cycle of the 9534 used exactly 80 litres, which is 16 litres for each of the 5 'fills'. Many thanks.

Many thanks, SuperElectronic, 16 litres sounds a good reference point to check. The machine had a blocked pressure tube many years ago and following the resultant over-filling, and clearing the tube, both the seal and main bearings failed, and so did the motor. I suspect weight and high water...
