What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Frigidaire 58, Frigidaire 1-18 , Hobart n-50, Kitchenaid H-5, I want a washer like my mom had when i was a kid, a Montgomery Ward TOL (Norge) with all the shinny sqaure buttons, the burpolator agitator with the big blue fabric softener dispenser, the pull out bleach dispenser, and the detergent dispenser on the top to the right of the lid.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
My grandmas washers and dishwashers - one had a 1-18 and she used to put a little cup under the lid just enough so it would still work and I could see it bobbing up and down. She had a TOL Lady Kenmore with the buttons behind the door and the start button. Cool sounds of the timer starting and the WRRWRRWRR on the control panel. The other grandma had the K5a I now have. She would never use it, it was on a stand in the other room, and I thought it was cool cause it looked like the big hobarts that were at the school kitchen she managed. Finally got her to use it once. She usually used a sunbeam mixer. Their washer didnt work, think it was a Philco, but never got a really good look inside cause they didnt like me messing with things. Her electrolux that popped open with full was cool too. Used to go to the laundromat with them sometimes and got to watch the old speed queen solid tubs.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Hobart wmc1 dishwaher, a kitchenaid, there is a maytag washer in the garage needing a seal, several other dishwashers Ive picked up and either fixed and gave away or finally got rid of.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Not really resorted anything yet but have worked on them for myself, family and friends.
