Here's what I decided. I got the Kenmore 1389 for my regular dishes and I'm going to get the Whirlpool GU2475XTVB for my cooking dishes (pots, pans, knives, etc.) I still wish I could find an older KitchenAid though. I did look at the drawer dishwashers but decided we generate enough dishes...

Oh wow! Thanks for all the pics. I've been trying to decide what's important to me in a dishwasher. I really like the racks with tines that aren't shaped for dishes. I also prefer the silverware on the door (if it gets clean there) and not having to load around anything would be especially nice...

Oops, forgot to clarify this is dishwashers Thanks Andrew, I'll look at those. Our budget is, "the cheaper the better!"

I have 5 kids and have company frequently. I'm looking at driving 2 hours to get an older Kitchenaid, and I've looked at the Hobart undercounter used. My husband though wants me to at least look into new models. Any suggestions?

I'm hoping to have the model numbers when my darling brother picks it up for me tomorrow. He and the dishwasher live about 4 hours away. He's going to pick it up and bring it to me. Yea! I never thought I would be excited about an OLDER dishwasher.

The seller calls it a Superba and says it needs a few new parts (hose & wheels for the racks) Also, what do you think the likelihood of me being able to swap out those wood panels for my own?
