Saltysam:
A little off-topic here...but, I was checking out your old Bendix (which is a great find) when I noticed that you're from Festus MO.
It was the starting place & hometown of one of my favorite bands and musicians...Brian Henneman of the Bottlerockets. I'm sure you've heard of them...
I'm new to the board and was wondering if someone could post a list and ratings of TOL washers and dryers from 60s-80's.
I know this list would be somewhat subjective, but are there true winners or a few that stand head and shoulders above the rest?
Is there one "desert island" unit that one...
Ralph,
I don't have the serial #'s handy, but I know they are 1974 or possibly 1975 because my parents built the house in 1974 and bought new units that year.
What is HOH?
Hi Brian
I'm a newbie too. I must admit i frequent the forum here daily.
Thank my mom's need to have her washer fixed for my introduction.
At first I thought it was wacky...now I'm starting to understand.
I love old tube amplifiers and have even built a few. Old Fender's I could understand...
They are in very good condition. I'm not sure why I bought new whirlpools about 4 years ago. I wasn't aware of how much better washers were built back in the day. If I had it to do over...well you know what I'll be doing in a couple years.
I dislike the whirlpools. I work as a technician...
Gotta thank goatfarmer for the replacement timer! The appliance tech that came out said she needed new units and that he would have to junk these. LOL...
Like taking a near-perfect 57 Chevy with a bad starter to the junkyard.
