sadly I dont have room for a vintage appliance collection
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
anything that lights up when you plug it in
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Worked for 10 years, age 13 to 23 (thru college @SJSU) at a major appliance store in San Jose...hundreds of trade-in items were mine to "play" with, at least before most of them went to the scrap heap...I have probably seen just about everything made in America up to 1970 or so...but my memory is going fast :-(
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
just a few, laundry items by Frigidaire, GE, Kenmore and my current Maytag...my kitchen is a "Heinz 57" variety...Whirpool, Viking, Thermador, Jennair, U Line, Monogram and Sharp...oddly enough they all sort of "match"
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Way too many to count. I worked in the appliance stores service department...cleaning used stuff for resale and doing repair work when I got a little older...I was a wiz at Unitmatics and wig/wag Whirpools & Kenmores
