Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

We have a 1920 house in the city of Edmonton (also known as the airport code YEG). I've slowly been undoing all of the modern changes the decades of previous owners have made to the house. That includes selling the newer/modern kitchen appliances and replacing them with pre -1960 appliances. One day, I would love to replace our 2021 washer and dryer with a vintage 1950s set.

I post a lot of the restorations I do on my instagram page to help others and I use it to find help and advice when I'm restoring/repairing vintage and antique things. @1920CraftsmanYeg

I have a 1949 Westinghouse Commander B74-49 Range, a 1950 Westinghouse Electric Roaster Oven RO-91, 1956 General Electric Combination refrigerator (the single door model with foot press and revolving shelves), and a 1958 KitchenAid Hobart KD-2P-C portable dishwasher.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
I have found all of them on our local marketplace page, so I haven't had to drive very far to get them! It has taken 3 years of almost daily hunting to find what I was looking for!
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
I have repaired/restored my 1949 Westinghouse range. The clock and oven timer wires were cut so I rewired the clock and got it working again. I will be replacing the oven infinite switch in the next week with a brand new original switch. It took me 2 years to find one and I'm glad I did, because my oven just stopped heating last week!
