The person who gave it too me said it was the thermostat, but wouldn't it turn on anyway, just not heat properly?

I was just given the MOST amazing oven. I love it and everything works great except right side self cleaning oven will not turn on . It is a Frigidaire Imperial Electri-clean, model RCIE 75-12. Any help from vintage lovers and experts would be greatly appreciated !!
