Even if Maytag and Kitchenaid are a little more expensive than Whirlpool, they are still cheaper than a Miele dishwasher. In North America, only the rich can afford a Miele dishwasher. You never see them in middle-priced homes.

This thread shows the removable agitator. But different than the one we had. The picture is the one we had when I was growing up. It was more like a straight vane agitator.(4 vanes). It was removable. The delicate agitator didn't move much water.It was like a flat plate with curvy speed bumps...

I'm always amazed at how the Maytag HOH drum finish always look perfect, even after all these years. On all the HOH dryers I have seen. That drum finish was indestructible.

Cool video of the KDS-18. It would have been cool to have both Kitchenaid and Maytag, in action just like that video, side by side. The Maytags had smaller holes, more jets,with more pressure.

My aunt had the avocado one. I always wondered what makes the roto-rack spin so fast. Water pressure only? What if the rack is empty? Does it spin anyways? If the rack is only loaded on one side, does it spin unbalanced? So many questions...lol
