Sorry, actually I believe the spray starts 1 minute after the spin starts. But still, the water is completely drained well before then.

Reply #5 good catch Marco. Along with what Marco said, it seems to drain pretty slowly compared to my machine which seems almost instantaneous when the spin starts. Maybe if it's not draining as it should it causes the water to slosh over as the machine spins up higher triggering the overflow...

When I was living in a dorm there wasn't enough dryers to keep up with the washers, so you'd have to wait for a dryer. As soon as a dryer became available someone would grab all their sopping wet clothes out of the washer before it had time to finish its final spin, and throw them in the dryer...
