    Putting up

Freezing tomatoes: In addition to putting up tomatoes I’ll also freeze some for use in vegetable soup. It’s very simple, just core your tomatoes and put in gallon or 2 gallon Ziploc bags and freeze. When you want to use simply pull the bag out let it thaw and the tomato skins slip right off...

    Kenmore Dryer

Picked this Kenmore dryer up today from Craigslist, it’ll be living in my brothers laundry room. It is incredibly quiet and looks to have been well kept. Does anyone know the age of this dryer? This is the first time I’d seen a Kenmore/Whirlpool dryer with the lint screen in that location.

    Wash-In Still On! August 21-23

I completely forgot about the wash-in, it was a crazy week, spent the day Friday at Hillman with dad, and I had no car as it was having extensive dent repair work from a hail storm 3-28

What is Your Daily Driver? (Automobile)

Chuck, That’s what I love about my Enclave too, the folding 2nd and 3rd row. Honestly I always leave the 3rd row down. I actually just used it to pick up an 80s Kenmore dryer today

Making Mushroom Dip in the Westinghouse Electric Skillet

Yes, I have that Stainless Hoover skillet, mine has a regular aluminum lid and doesn’t have the broiler element in the lid. These are definitely high quality pans, you can also find the exact same skillet under the Nesco name as well

    Green (not avocado) Hoover Spirit

When the chinese company TTI acquired Hoover in 2007 they promptly discontinued all parts, until that time you were still able to get parts for machines dating back to the early 50s I have an early 80s JCPenney badged Spirit, it has the more deluxe power nozzle, but I mostly just use it for...

    HVAC Woes

It seems odd to me as well that there are areas where homes don’t have a cellar and are built on a slab or has a crawl space. In this area it would be very uncommon to see a home without a cellar

    HVAC Woes

It seems so odd to me that you all have your hvac installed in the attic. Around here the hvac is located in the cellar along with hot water heater

    The return of the Pantry

I’d love to have a pantry, but my galley kitchen with breakfast nook doesn’t permit one. I have one upper cabinet 40” w x 42” h that is used for food storage. Luckily I have a cellar under both of my porches, accessed from the basement. The smaller 4’ x 4’ cellar is my fruit cellar that has...
