I was directed to you folks for input on 3 appliances that are in my grandparents home. This house will be eventually bulldozed - perhaps by the end of 2025. My older son suggested I get info/thoughts from you folks on these items. The Philco stove was used as recently as 2022 when my mom went into a care facility. I assume the Youngstown Kitchen dishwasher does not work. The Caloric stove may work, but am uncertain. I am located in Central Iowa - Ogden specifically. Thank you for input on these items.

Early 50s kitchen appliances

, Very cool thanks for sharing. I love the round window on the Philco electric stove. I had never seen that before on a Philco.

They all look to be very much intact. Hopefully somebody may want to restore one or more of them. They all could still be useful. Dishwasher is more of a curiosity. I can’t imagine anybody would try to use it but it sure is cool.

There's some interesting back story on the stove.  Philco bought the Electromaster range factory in Mount Clemens in the late 40s (to round out their offerings of refrigeration and radio) which originally produced the Electrochef. Detroit Edison aggressively supported Electromaster to promulgate electric cooking in their area (they had huge generating capacity for the car plants and were looking to generate residential demand) and came up with these amazing looking units.

The Philco stove is a real beauty.  Considering it has a clock and a minute timer, is the blank plate between the burner controls reserved for something else, and if so, what would it be?

Hi! Did you sell the dishwasher by chance ?
Thanks!

No, it has not been sold. An interested party after this originally was posted never got in touch to pick it up after indicating they were interested. Also, things went much slower than I had thought. The house, at this point, is still intact as are the appliances. At this time, while still being the executor for the estate, the acreage has changed hands and will be owned by my brother after the money end of things are fully settled. He has not indicated that he plans to do anything with the appliances. I would assume if anyone shows an interest, he (and I) would be willing to sell. I have no good idea what things are worth, but I also do not want to see them 'destroyed' if someone can get some use out of them.
