Applainces used for Home Ecomomics in your School & Educational Institutions

@nrones The Baby Belling is a small tabletop cooker with 2 hob elements and a small oven. Most of the examples I can remember were mounted on a moveable stand so they could be moved to each classroom as required. http://www.belling.co.uk/baby-belling/baby-belling-321r/

Applainces used for Home Ecomomics in your School & Educational Institutions

I can remember my First School had a grey Hoovermatic twin tub, in Middle School they had late 80's Brown/White Hotpoint that was replaced with a Candy around 2000/2001 when the School was refurbished. I can't remember what they had at High School. All 3 schools I went to had at least one Baby...

    My Computer Died

I had a sticky enter key on my model M keyboard, probably caused by me accidently washing off the grease that coated the metal spokes. The grease can dry out as well, which could be what’s causing the issue with your keyboard.

    Haier ? Bosch?

A while ago I was looking on a Chinese wholesale website and they had a vast array of Washers and Washer Dryers that had in the description "Machine uses Italian Merloni Technology"!

indesit is in the s**t next week

The water where I live is borderline soft/medium. I don't use Calgon as soap powder (well Ariel and Persil at least) already has the anti limescale agents in it.

    Haier ? Bosch?

It wouldn’t be the first time they have done it, one of their Washer Dryers is identical to the older Indesit models from the 90's.

    My Computer Died

The MCA bus was far better then the then common ISA bus but the downside is that IBM wanted to make a quick buck by licensing it, but the cloners wouldn't play ball. This did cause problems with drivers (such as the hard drive driver for Windows 95). To get the best performance out of them...

    My Computer Died

I quite like the keyboard from my NeXTstation, its keys give good feedback when pressed. The keyboard on my Macbook is not bad ether, I like the spacing between the keys. However the trend these days seems to be to try to pack a full keyboard in the smallest space possible, making them hard to...

    My Computer Died

The hard disc in my Model 70 eventually went as well. I guess the Achilles heel of the PS/2 range was their somewhat exotic internal hardware that made finding replacements hard/uneconomical. I think it is the spring action ones that click, but I'm not 100%.

    My Computer Died

I'm sure some were quieter then others. We had a PS/2 Model 55 at first school and I can remember it's keyboard was pretty quiet.

    this is mee !!

My Mum had a Zanussi Badged one from the 90's. Stupidly we chucked it away when the thermostat cut out and didn't realise it could be reset!

    My Computer Died

Many years ago I also had a IBM PS/1 (can't remember the model but it had a small case and a 386), that was a bit of a odd machine. I'm not a fan of the PS/2 mice ether, were always a bit awkward for me to use.

    My Computer Died

I had a IBM PS/2 Model 70 (running OS/2 Warp 3) and I absolutely loved it's Model M keyboard. It made a right racket when typing fast! The whole machine, like the keyboard, was built like a tank.

The Infrared idea seems like a good idea, its a shame it's not used in other machines, but I guess the extra water consumption would put manufacturers off. Watchdog will probably be on BBC iPlayer, you will have to use a UK proxy to see it. They many do a article with a video clip on their...

The Moon did strike me odd given that people seem to like having a wide range of programme options, while the Moon has so few. However, from what I understand it is good at rinsing because it uses infrared to detect how cloudy the rinse water is, adjusting the cycle accordingly.

    Another one exploads again, BOOOM!!

I think Candy needs to think about saving costs of not recalling Vs the potential PR fallout if any more machines do this, potentially causing serious injury or worse. There were still lingering aftershocks over Hoover's Free Flights promotion, as the was still legal action been taken in the...

    Another one exploads again, BOOOM!!

@aquarius1984 I don't really see what the problem is, at the end of the day, this is a forum for people who are interested in talking about washers, not just about preservation. I have put my input into other discussions, and I'll be quite happy to continue doing so as well as this.

    Another one exploads again, BOOOM!!

I don't have time for people who relish fun and games like that. If you don't like the comments, don't read them. It's as simple as that.
