Interesting 1997 Caloric Prestige Series Electric Range - on Ebay

Looks like manual clean oven, but has two 8" burners and appears to have a panel light. Was this still based on the Philco electric range design that Caloric had gotten? https://www.ebay.com/itm/294500387738?hash=item4491974b9a:g:plgAAOSw3Hdheese&autorefresh=true

    Sweet Home Alabama

Nice property. I do think the bathrooms look very old, that tiny shower mentioned is ridiculous. I do like the tub/shower with the arched tile ceiling. Are those early 90s Thermador double ovens in the kitchen?

    Maytag Dependable Care Set

I like the styling of the control panels on these as well as the early Neptune/Atlantis style panels.

If Speed Queen sold through Kenmore

Most people I know in small towns just drive to the nearest town with a Lowes or Home Depot, or before they mostly all closed, a mall store Sears. We do have two appliance stores here, and one of them has Speed Queen. I remember when my parents replaced their washer a few years ago, the store...

If Speed Queen sold through Kenmore

Yeah I've wondered what the small towns do as far as appliances. I remember the town I lived in first as a child had only a Royal's furniture store that sold appliances, and a Sears catalog store. I'm not sure the catalog store even stocked appliances, or if rather you just ordered them in. I...

Cool electric smoothtop range! (DW too but no pic) Columbia IL

Yeah, I have noticed that ranges in Canada tend to have taller control panels with the stacked knobs. They also tend to have panel lights and convenience outlets, even though ranges in the US stopped having convenience outlets sometime in the early-mid 70s.

Cool electric smoothtop range! (DW too but no pic) Columbia IL

I like the brown patterned glass top, very interesting. And of course it has a panel light too!

    Jaguar XJ6/XJ40 ~1988-95 (6 cyl versions)

They are nice looking, I give them that. Remember Hyacinth of Keeping Up Appearances got jealous after Mrs Hawksworth overtook her and Richard in her brand new Jaguar X300. To which she got Richard to test drive a Rolls Royce and drive it without the salesman to a hotel Mrs. Hawksworth...

Late 90s Kenmore DD washer $175 Michigan

I think it's more mid 90s. It has the older Kenmore logo and in 1996 they switched to the swoosh Kenmore logo, which I believe was also when they changed to the curvy white consoles with the rubbery gray and white knobs. All of those style consoles were white that I've seen. During the late...

    GE sale to Haier complete

I'm almost at the point that if I'm ever able to build a house, I'd almost want older appliances rather than new ones. Sure, I admit the new ones look nice with their electronic controls, LED lighting, etc. And the trim bits and how they fit together has gotten really slick. But I just question...

    Strange 24" Whirlpool range

Looks like Premier is making these for Whirlpool. I never knew Premier made ranges for the "big guys". https://www.lowes.com/pd/Whirlpool-2-96-cu-ft-24-in-Freestanding-Electric-Range-with-Upswept-SpillGuard-Cooktop-Stainless-Steel/5013048907

GE 30" stove late 70s/80s Detroit harvest gold $20

Looks like it has selectable 8" burner size and a panel light too. Guessing this was close to TOL at the time.

    Electronic ignition location

From what I've noticed, it looks like older gas ranges that had electronic ignition had two ignitors, one between each pair of burners, where a pilot flame would be on a pilot lit range. Most modern gas ranges appear to have one ignitor for each burner, and it's placed right next to each. Does...

    "Off brand" stoves

I had heard of some Sunray made ranges that did have the upper broiler element, where the liner rusted around the screws and the element fell! I have also seen some (possibly Sunray?) stoves that were so cheap there was not even an 8" top element, all 6"!

Vintage Hardwick Range / Oven / Broiler / Gas / Propane Stove

Hopefully someone else can confirm, but yes if you shut off the screw, the pilots should be off and you can just manually light the burners. It appears to be a good stove, from the era when these were true Hardwick ranges.

    Electronic Kenmore 90 Series

Strange pairing, going for the TOL washer but a dryer a level or two down, with dial controls and no panel light.

Same here, I'm more interested in appliances, exhaust fans, the wall switches, anything else BUT colors of paint and flooring. LOL

    "Off brand" stoves

Brown I'm thinking they made them for Hotpoint too as some of the 20" Hotpoints looked very similar. I am not sure who makes their current 20" as they look different than Brown's. It would not surprise me if manufacturers farm out their 20" ranges and other oddball sizes to other companies. GE...
