    Dryer Sheets

We never use liquid softener, tried it about 30 years ago, and we didn't like it. My wife even claimed her clothes got a blue hue, although I never noticed it. We use dryer sheets. Snuggle, Gain, or store brands like Meijer. Whatever is cost efficient. Only use it on clothes and sheets...

You're the one that said: Seems like you have a hard time operating a simple machine, and didn't want to put in any effort. Just pointing out that machines like that are still available.

If you have to change your washer dryer set front load washer and topload washer modern and vintage what would you need in term of features?

All I do is touch a button, it's capacitive. Don't even have to "push" it. Add detergent first. That's it. Don't have to set a cycle either, just like my vintage machine, I always use the same cycle. Not sure if it could get any simpler.

He keeps insisting there is a new Texas facility too. There isn't. A simple programming change is an entirely new model?

    Window Air Conditioner Advice/Suggestions

That's why I said I'll never go up there again. Too messy and dusty. And there is no reason to go back up there. My HVAC is in the basement, at our cottage it's in a closet. I think HVAC in the attic is one of the worst idea I have ever seen. Yes it's hot up there (or freezing in the winter...

    Window Air Conditioner Advice/Suggestions

I built half my house. Added a 360 sq ft addition, plus a 2.5 car attached garage. Other than the foundation, I did all the work myself, except the insulation. Even though I can get in mine, it's in a closet like yours, with a separate garage hatch. Blown in insulation is a mess, I hired that...

    Window Air Conditioner Advice/Suggestions

Attic insulation is the most important, and easiest to add. And as you say, sealing and windows. Heat rises in the winter, and the sun beats down on the roof in the summer. Like I said, I lowered my heating use by 40%, that's a huge gain

    Window Air Conditioner Advice/Suggestions

Having no insulation will definitely make a difference. Window or central AC. You may want to remedy that. Mine was built in 1975, but there was only about 3" of insulation in the attic. It didn't even cover the 2"x4" truss bottoms. Later new windows, house wrap, sealing, etc. Heating cost...

    Window Air Conditioner Advice/Suggestions

Glad it worked, but if you have central air, I'd use that. Window units are always too loud to run when trying to sleep in the same room. Plus cooling the whole house keeps the bedroom cooler at night. I used to cool the whole house with a 8,000 BTU LG, I blew it's output at the door, and set a...

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

I think you mean receivers. Very few bought separate amps in the 70's and 80's. I do have power amps from 1989, 1999, and 2001, though I'm not a collector, I still use them. I think vintage gear has become very expensive, but that's for nostalgia, not quality. Everyone wants to recapture their...

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

It was a typo, it says 45+ right in your signature. I did ask what you have been repairing since the 70's. I'm 61. Been into audio since I was 8, it was Marantz tube equipment. Had full separates by 1980 at 16. It If you keep posting misinformation, I will reply. people come here for...

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

That's funny. Audio equipment was much better in the 2000's than the '70's. We didn't even have CD in the 70's. Then, just crappy cassettes, and vinyl that would lose quality every time you played it. It's dropping now, as two or three companies have bought out every brand out there. Denon...

That was BMW a couple years ago, they quickly cancelled that because of the backlash. At least in the US.

Seriously? I gave you a link. They are going to eliminate ATSC1.0, same way they eliminated analog broadcasts. They are just arguing about the date. https://www.broadcastingalliance.org/50-state-broadcaster-resolution-calls-for-atsc-1-0-sunset-and-national-atsc-3-0-transition-plan/

Forgot about some cars requiring it for remote start. I keep my cars in an attached garage, I really don't want (or need) remote start anyways. What if it's started by accident? No thanks.
