    I turned on my Furnace

Well let me know when that happens. I'm all for it, but I live in reality. We had a pant 60 miles from here 20 years ago, and a couple more downstate. They are all shuttered now, and prices never went down. Some orange guy did try to force DTE to reopen a coal fired plant that was closed.

    I turned on my Furnace

Electric heat here is 3 times the cost of natural gas. No thank you, I'll stick with my 97% HE furnace. But, after using the heat all last weekend, the air conditioner is on today, and will be for at least a week. I love Michigan.

    I turned on my Furnace

I'm with you Dave. I'm in northern Michigan. It was in upper 90's until last weekend. It hasn't gone over 55 or so (45 at night) since last Wednesday. I turned on my heat yesterday because it was 63 in the house, and my wife was complaining. Good news is it's back in the 60's tomorrow, and will...

    Still Dead Microwave

What are the symptoms? Does it turn on? My Panasonic worked normally, except no heating. So I checked the magnetron, there are videos that show you how, it was bad. 5 minute repair.

    Burgers and Fries

I threw mine out about 20 years ago. Not only does the oil go bad, but I had to use it out on the deck, or the house would stink for days. Then there is the health issues. I can get just as good from the oven. Especially when I buy the frozen "Checkers" fries.

Speed Queen TV2000wn - early review / permanent lid switch fix

The TC5 will not fill with the lid open either. Never understood the big deal, if I want to add something, I can, it just pauses the fill for a couple seconds. The model you got has a three year parts warranty, NO labor. Not sure where the 90 days came from. The TC5 has 5 years parts and labor...

What Temp Is Your Thermostat Set?

69 during the day, I change it to 68 when it gets dark, until morning. 2016 13 seer Trane system. Most important thing is air sealing and insulation. Today was 89 degrees out, the air didn't come on until 4:30 pm. It's ran about 4 times for an hour or so. It usually only runs once at night...

    Help Me Pick a Washer!

I wouldn't pay $275-$300 for any 24 year old machine. Too old. You can get new machines for just a little more., and it will be delivered.

You now think that Whirlpool is the best quality? After years of preaching TC5 only? What happened to change your opinion?

    Help Me Pick a Washer!

Sorry, thought they were new. SQ no longer makes a residential model with mechanical timer. If these are used, how old are they?

    Help Me Pick a Washer!

That Speed Queen is a commercial model. 3 years warranty PARTS only, no labor. Look at the TC5 or TR5 for a 5 year parts and labor warranty.

Is there a decent washing machine (TL/FL) available from Home Depot for under $1k?

I use these on my house: https://dryerwallvent.com/ Don't clog up like the plastic screens, closes with a magnet, and mice can't chew through the plastic.

Both my Speed Queen units stop working I don't know what I'm missing or doing wrong - Please help.

This is why my local Speed Queen dealer will not sell or install these in residential settings. There is no labor warranty, just 3 years parts. Maybe that's why they want a service call charge? Sorry you are having these issues only three months in.

Both my Speed Queen units stop working I don't know what I'm missing or doing wrong - Please help.

I'd expect they are separate circuits, since the washer is 120v and the dryer is 240v.

    Home Emergency Lights

Cool idea, but I'd want it mounted in the wall. Why do you tape the wire nuts though?

Is there a decent washing machine (TL/FL) available from Home Depot for under $1k?

I got a Speed Queen TC5. Delivered, installed, free hose extension, and free haul away last year form the local dealer for $1150, The TR5 was offered at $1050. Both have 5 year warranty's. And THEY service what they sell, not some contractor. I'd check out a local dealer before shopping at HD...

Speed Queen TC5 Anniversary and sudsing issue.

Here's a closeup. There's about one inch. But another stand pipe won't help anyways, because the hose will not fit in the plug, I've tried to explain that many times, even gave links above to the extension kit. And that wasn't a repair, there was about 2.5" of pipe between the original fittings...

Speed Queen TC5 Anniversary and sudsing issue.

Against code, no air gap. And where would I put the HVAC and softener drain hoses? I think we discussed this before. https://codes.iccsafe.org/s/MIPC2018P2/chapter-4-fixtures-faucets-and-fixture-fittings/MIPC2018P2-Ch04-Sec406.2#MIPC2018P2_Ch08_Sec802.4.3 That looks like a dishwasher drain...
