It looks like they've cost-cut to the point that the major parts of the machine are no longer sufficient. I know they don't sell in the US, but it's kind of sad since it's a family-owned private business. I'd like to see that kind of business do well.
Hamper door hinges
If it's not too late, I have a friend with a Kenmore dryer with bad door hinges. If you could get the hinges and springs that go with them, I could patch that up for her.
Not hi-fi
I know that mine, like many 80s models has huge bass. That means that music like rap and power ballads sounds absolutely amazing, but some just doesn't quite cut it. I have an RCA Red Seal classical disc in it just for the humor value. Here's a vid of it in action.
I've heard that called a pudding cake-one that seems underdone in the middle almost like thickened batter? Sounds nice, because what I'd really prefer to some cake is a bowl of batter, but I don't like to get food poisoning!
Door seal
Would the door seal (or the latch for that matter) really hold back much water anyway? These newer front loaders don't really run water up the inside of the door, so I really doubt that it wouldn't leak just as much with the door closed once it got past a couple of inches up the...
Seeburg Entertainer
Your jukebox or theirs?
I'm a home jukebox user, too. I've got a Rowe/AMi R-92 Combo. It can make you a bad neighbor, but sounds amazing. Jukeboxes are built to play over noisy bars, so the sound (not strictly hi-fi) is just larger than life in a home!
Martha Stewart "Clean"
Cleans as well as water alone. Wow. I suppose that there is a way that something could actually clean worse than water alone. Perhaps some of its cleaning power was derived from the superior product *any product* left in the machine from the prior load.
After I did my...
My cheap favorites are Ultra Tandil (Aldi) with Bleach Alternative liquid and powder Ultra Plus (Sears). Where did they place on the list? I will probably try some of the Cold Water Tide the next time I need some.
The cost of having someone come fix it is the problem. If you work on it yourself, most problems are cheap to fix. If you have to pay someone else to fix it due to ignorance or disability-it doesn't matter-it quickly turns into new washer territory instead for most people.
I had wondered about these, but never seen one up close. This is the full-size Haier top-loader. It seems boringly ordinary. Nothing special about it. I'd like to see one in action.
Different subject
Repost it with a subject line about opening Kenmore World Washer. Those are belt-drive and came out in the mid 90s. The US market ones are generally from Brazil or Mexico.
Photo please
Please post a photo of the machine. If it's the world washer, I don't know how to open it. If it's the DD, take a credit card or something similarly flat and stiff, and push it in the gap between the top and main body at both the left and right corners. You'll have to push...
One certain improvement
They don't make them look cheap like they used to with BOL machines. That's an amazing bargain. If you want to see something bad, look at the old Galaxy machines that Sears used to sell for their cheapest one. White cabinet, brown plastic control panel, plain black...
