Coconut oil
Don't dog the coconut oil. Not only was it superior to the Trans Fats that replaced it, but I think that coconut oil is much healthier than its level of saturation would have you believe. It's supposed to be one of those foods that better for you than it ought to be.
I worked at a...
Yeah, I could get it to spin with the digital board, but when I set it to fill, the water valve would buzz but not open. I'm going to play with it some more this week, but I found in all of my workings that the rattly noise I had been hearing during agitation is the pump. It turns smoothly one...
I read this the other day. Though Fisker is somehow involved, I wouldn't necessarily say that this is to be the Fisker assembly plant. The Fisker car is good looking, but I have not seen a specific product tied to this plant yet.
Short answer: don't hold your breath for this to be some...
The Home Depot page on the Admiral says that it has a porcelain tub. I couldn't find the Roper or Estate on the webpage at all, but did find the budget Amana.
I'm sure that any of the above would be typical boring Whirlpool DD reliable. That's usually a good thing.
That is a really big dog. You don't have to bend over to pet him, and he has easy access to things close to the edge of that table without even trying. How much does he weigh?
The folks that own the turquoise listing mention in it that the set shown is newer but similar to the washer that they're selling. They probably stole the picture from here or that club member's webpage.
I'm still 100% sure that the combo listing is the one we've seen before. I think that there...
Is that first listing old? Didn't someone on here buy that?
As to the portable set, I found that (up until about 10 years or so ago) they sold not only the stacking shelf that I bought, but a stacking kit. It bolted the two together just like a stacked pair. Due to venting, it's not supposed to...
Tests
It went better than I had even hoped. I can't get it photogenically going, but the wiring was relatively easy. The digital panel refused to fill without its full set of dispenser valves hooked up. The 3 speed panel worked properly all around. The next time it's handy, I'm going to pick up...
Wish me luck
The parts came yesterday. I'm going into the belly of the beast later today. I'm just going to plug the new wiring and panel in and run it one load that way to make sure that it all can work right before I start building a mount for the controls. I can add the temperature sensor...
I don't. The safety record is actually excellent. Any failures have been very publicized and were (Chernobyl excepted) far less hazardous than anyone thinks.
If everyone expects to be driving electric cars, there is going to have to be an order of magnitude increase in electrical production...
You should be able to find a timer for less than a washer. That said, a direct-drive Whirlpool, Kenmore, Estate, or Roper will be the most dependable cheap thing you can find.
I don't know about a Barton, but I think that I could pack more than $10,000 of $10 bills in one washer. They say "a washer full" of $10 bills, and that's only 1,000 bills. That's a two-hander for sure, but easy enough to carry.
Great story. That sounds like a scary dryer. Most are benign of appearance and sound, and certainly don't have a visible burner. I'll confess: I wish my little dryer had an off switch for the buzzer, as I find it a little startling.
I think that some basement appliances (water heaters...
It really does seem like a joke. It looks like clothes getting rubbed to bits soaked with dirty water. If it had a recirculating waterfall like the Calypso or Filter-Flo, at least I'd feel like there was some water going through the clothes. It's creepy watching the stuff rise out of the middle...
Scale
Do you have a scale accurate to a few grams that might be able to weigh the difference between a new one and a used one? It'd be nice to know how much detergent is in there.
I think that even the smallest of concentrated detergents is diluted and has other fillers added for many reasons...
