New Speed Queen Models Coming Soon!

I do agree users should have the option of buying a simple model or a fully featured model if they like, however, one thing that infuriates me is when they take away relatively simple features from low end models that are otherwise found on high end models. I find it unfair to consumers who want...

New Speed Queen Models Coming Soon!

IMO the best front load cycles fill cold and then heat the water to a target temperature based on the fabric and color being washed. Clothes get cleaner and the process is far more energy efficient. Quicker at 230 volts than 120 volts of course but I would still be willing to have that feature...

New Speed Queen Models Coming Soon!

I remember seeing the user manual for those and wanted one so bad. I think they should've just kept the heater as it wasn't forced to be on. Users could choose if they wanted the heat boost or not. I still think it would have been worth it instead of removing the feature altogether.

New Speed Queen Models Coming Soon!

When I put a 50/50 358277 mixing in my Speed Queen it was a noticeable improvement for the better. Personally I discovered that Tide Professional and many other detergent labelled for cold water washing actually do best not in cold water or hot water, but in warm water around ~100*F. Clothes...

    Pizza Night

That looks absolutely amazing, delicious and comforting! It would be gone in one sitting at my house LOL. Any drinks to go with that scrumptious pizza?

    Most Commonly Set Oven Temperature

Yes to the bacon! With ziti and other heartier pastas I will sometimes use the broiler to melt cuts of Parmesan cheese or bread crumbs on top of the dish.

    Most Commonly Set Oven Temperature

That sounds so yummy! Anything one this side like salad or bread-sticks? Any garlic or herbs on top?

    Most Commonly Set Oven Temperature

Thanks, I remember you describing your shrimp Alfredo Casserole. It sounded so good! :)

    Most Commonly Set Oven Temperature

What temperature you most often find yourself setting your oven to? For me it is 425*F followed by 375*F, 400*F, 350*F and 450*F respectively. I find cookies cook best at 375*F rather than 350*F and 425 is common for so many meats and potatoes that I bake.

    Another Kenmore DD washer

That inner and outer tub is actually what I consider ok. I will clean up in about two dozen loads with enough detergent. I've taken apart washer in scrap piles that were on orders of magnitude worse. Mold, caked on sludge, scum, ect The key keeping your machine grime free is washing in mostly...

    Another Kenmore DD washer

Thank You! :) Here is cycle sequence and wiring diagram for the 110.27802690 Kenmore Washing Machine pictured in post #5. As with the 110.20712990 Ultra Clean Cycle, there is no spray rinse in the first spin on the Heavy Duty, Permanent Press and Normal cycles. The Permanent Press cycle uses a...

    Pizza Night

Made another Pizza. 365 Thin Crust. Added meat loaf on top of the pepperoni. Popcorn and Sprite drink. Dave's hot Sauce for a strong kick.

    Persil Laundry Detergent

Jerome, I am liking Persil so much now I bought another bottle. I plan on buying other versions of Persil just to try them out. Potent concentrated detergent that gives great results in my Speed Queen top load washer.

    Persil Laundry Detergent

I've noticed that clothes do come out feeling rougher with Persil than Tide. Not sure the reasoning. Perhaps tide is more of a soap and the residual at the end of the cycle makes the clothes feel softer? Another thing I've noticed is that Persil does not seem to rinse away as well as Tide. I...

Look who's heading back to the kitchen

The sticker for the Dalox oven says made in China as are the other off brands. Design seems like a combination of IEC and Chinese standards with good but not great quality control mixed in. An American manufacturer could and would produce the next Maytag Dependable Care of wall ovens if they...

Look who's heading back to the kitchen

Ok, a bit of an update from my research. After coming across a thread on reddit of a similar Dalxo model like this RCA oven and an Empava model on Ebay, it seems like the internals are 100% analog with no electronics. There appear to be two high limits on each side of the incoming mains, an...

Look who's heading back to the kitchen

I respect your point of view. There are people who love their self clean oven. Personally I haven't used the self clean cycle in over 10 years. I find that it dulls the oven's interior, is hard on the oven, and uses lots of energy. For me keeping clean through aluminum foil, covering and keeping...

Look who's heading back to the kitchen

Interesting! 😃This is exactly how I imagine the control system for a convection wall oven. Knobs, simple settings and straightforward control. I hope everything inside is electromechanical. I wish I could try one out and see how well it works...

    Never Used Ultrawash Powerclean Dishwasher

That is a stunning dishwasher! If you do not mind me asking, do you have a pic of the model number tag?

    KUDD23 saves the day

Yup, 11.25 gallons on Heavy. Normal would be 9 gallons. I'll skip that wash - purge - rinse cycle that came on latter Power Clean machines labelled as normal, which gave marginal results on more soiled average everyday loads. Nothing wrong in showing what I know so we are both on the same page...
