    Stainless Steel!!

We are going back and forth between all stainless for the retro kitchen which I know will look really sharp, but low quality SS is yuk. The DW is white, and although a lower level frigidaire about 8 years old, I test ran a rinse cycle today and was impressed with the power. Literally don't make...

    GE floor scrubber gettin it!

Used my friends very vintage and very capable floor scrubber today on the kitchen floor. Very nasty grime lifted up. Way easier than hand scrubbing!

    Streamline Modern to Mid Century

Cool stuff! Got our new old nutone intercom master station to replace the new system they put in. If anyone has any experience with these, help!

Awesome! I sense that warm fuzzy feeling from getting something all new and big and all yours. I like my frig DW btw, has some neat features for being on the cheap side. Give it a chance but remember they're prob the most fun to upgrade ;)

    Buy your water heaters now!

What about the gas being burned off for nothing in the north western states bc the keystone pipeline is being blocked? America could be energy independent for a century with cheap clean burning gas.

Yea Ive been depressed all wknd these were gone before I had a chance on them.. I'm gal they're going to a good home, but could not be more perfect for what I'm looking for. As long as they're cosmetically great, I can fix mechanical. : /

    LG Front Loaders

We have pretty much the same one, about 6 years old now so slightly different buttons is all.. Love it! Got to run the tub clean cycle after the dog stuff but no problems whatsoever. If you crank up the cycle buttons to kick butt mode that thing will clean like nothing else. Was going to do...

    But homemade is best..

Thanks yall! This is very interesting.. I'm looking at a bag of STPP on Amazon now. I'm guessing a 10 lb bag would go a long way, the standard sized box of trisodium phosphate, which I've used before in cleaning walls etc. before painting, which I loved, was 4.5 lbs I believe. How much would you...

    But homemade is best..

I was very skeptical too, it doesn't seem to add up! It really does work well though, our water is pretty hard too. Baton Rouge has water so soft it borders on slimy so it works even better there. I usually add 1/4 cup baking soda just to help no matter what soap I'm using anyway.

Scott put some in this tin but I thought that was a bit much ;)

    But homemade is best..

I've been trying my hand at home made laundry soap lately. Has anyone else tried it? It's the standard recipe I found on the intraweb.. Grated Fels naphtha soap bar, I use my cylindrical cheese grater, Borax and washing soda. I put the Fels naphtha in the fridge to make it easier to grate. So...

    First vintage appliance

Not exactly the same Electrolux I had but that thing really made me take stock of what was really becoming available, and more importantly what WASNT available anymore.. But I love my osterizer blender, I probably bought it in the late 90s but it's a steel beast as well.. Nothing even slows it down.

That's awesome appnut! I'm trying to get the guy from retro radio farm to rebuild it, it doesn't work. We are just up north in spring, where was y'all's house in Houston? There are some phenomenal places here, esp around jersey village etc. that laminate was the future back then apparently. No...

    Appliance heaven

I wanted to get a pic of the central vacuum in the storage room outside, it's a fantastic aqua blue and was only used a few times, works perfect now. The ovens are gas on the right and electric on the left. There's a gas outlet under the laundry sink with a countertop gas cook plate for when...

    Appliance heaven

Here are a few pics of my friends house, it was designed by the same architect as our house at the same time but was done on a wealthy dentist's budget ;) Every detail in the house was top of he line.
