Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the guidance and feedback. It's been tremendously helpful. This refrigerator turned out to be perfect. The large GE with lazy susan's that I was holding out for would have been too big for the space. I'm sure this one will be easier to maintain as well.

Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

The Frigidaire has arrived! I have to say, everyone was really blown away with how nice it is in person. I really lucked out with the right coppertone finish and fridge size. It definitely gets COLD. As you can see in the pictures, I had to somewhat demolish my kitchen to get the old one out and...

Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

Thanks John. The seller did confirm that it is developing frost relatively quickly in the freezer. I'll see how bad it is when it arrives though. They said that rubbing some petroleum jelly around the edges seems to help. Otherwise, the fridge functions perfectly. If the gasket really becomes...

Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

Thanks for the advice everyone. This sounds like a go to me. How does the cycle defrost work? Does it have some kind of dial, turn off on its own, or do you unplug with the door open?

Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

It doesn't say frost-free anywhere on it... I'm wondering if it is or isn't. I know the gasket in the freezer needs to be replaced. That seems simple enough but I'm not sure what these older gaskets are like. I attached some additional photos. It looks pretty pristine on the inside.

Should I buy this coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator?

(sorry... I think posted this initially in the wrong forum) I came across what looks like a pretty nice coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator. The dimensions are good and the coppertone looks to match my O'Keefe and Merritt appliances. However, I'm not too familiar with this model. Is it an...

Thinking of buying this Frigidaire Coppertone refrigerator. Looking for info!

I came across what looks like a pretty nice coppertone Frigidaire refrigerator. The dimensions are good and the coppertone looks to match my O'Keefe and Merritt appliances. However, I'm not too familiar with this model. Is it an energy hog? Trying to figure out if I should snap it up or run in...

GE Combination Refrigerator (lazy susan) from previous thread - Better pictures

I just posted about this refrigerator but I thought I should share again now that I have a better photos of it. The color/size doesn't work for me but at $100, it seems like a pretty good deal for the condition it's in...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Sorry! I meant 34" wide but's actually 36" (just remeasured it to double check.) That refrigerator came with the house. It's truly a monstrosity. It's quite a bit larger than even the large GE models. A few inches taller, much deeper, and slightly wider. The larger GE would fit pretty...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

That's a beauty John! Also, seeing that photo makes me really want to hold out for a coppertone GE. I agree the one I found is the smaller size. Considering it's the wrong size and not the right finish, I don't think it's worth getting. It would just look odd on my space. The fridge I have in...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Thanks! The dishwasher actually works a lot better and faster than the "new" one it replaced. Will eventually paint the rest of the kitchen that green I sanded down to the left of it. I asked the seller to confirm measurements. I get the feeling she's getting annoyed with all the questions...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Yeah... I'm not so sure she has her measurements right. The shelves look just like the narrower model. Feels insulting to ask someone to remeasure but it's a deal-breaker.

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

RP2813, I have noticed that the smaller models, even in the later years, don't have some of the prettier features inside. They're missing the covered lights and they still have coils up top. I'm just very curious to know if there's one of those nicer models that would actually fit. If not, I'm...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Also, this model I'm looking at is 65" H 35" W 25" D. It would be flush with my counters and the width is perfect. I'm not sure if some of those nicer models you mention come in that size? The smaller ones that I came across were only 30" W which would look silly.

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Oh, that's really great to know about the hot gas defrost. This whole time, I've been worrying about ending up with a model that I would have to route a gas line to. You learn a lot in these forums! The model # is: TC464WF The tone of my coppertone appliances is pretty dark. That is literally...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

The owner said it doesn't appear to have any gas hookup. I will have her double check though.

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

Anyone have one of these models and have major energy issues? I know these aren't as well insulated as the later models but I'm hoping it doesn't totally annihilate my electric bill.

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

"If this fridge were in L.A. you could count on the asking price being several times higher in that hipster-centric market" Sad but true! This would probably cost close to $1000 around here. It's looking like shipping will probably be around $400 so that still puts me well under what it...

Looking to buy this 1959 combination GE fridge. Any advice?

RP2813 - Would you say the wood tone brown would clash with coppertone appliances? I'm thinking it's probably better than the wrong coppertone finish, for instance. As far as shipping, that's going to be painful but I can't imagine I'll ever spotting one of these in my area. It seems like the...
