Maytag Gas Dryer Door Peg solution

We’re working on an early 60s Maytag dryer (among other things) and 3 of the four gas door pegs were missing, and the door was just laying inside. I got some nylon screws/spacers and nuts, and it’s holding tightly and flawlessly.

Calling Turbokinetic and Combo52! 1962ish GE Spacemaker Refrigerator Issues

I just picked up a (MUCH) rougher than the pictures GE Spacemaker refrigerator, TC469WF. The seller indicated that the evaporator fan motor had failed and required replacing. I wasn’t paying attention and ordered a new condenser fan. (The same repair that we made to the ‘60 GE) This seems to...

    Great condition Maytags

This may be a set worth getting! My 806 set I may never see again, as it was loaned out and doesn’t seem to be coming back anytime soon.

Rotisserie - Is it REALLY needed?

We use the rotisserie somewhat frequently in the ‘63 Americana, but if it were another dedicated freestanding appliance I don’t think we would.

One extinct feature you would revive?

I would bring back the design of the GE Spacemaker, with the pull-out shelves. I absolutely LOVE that feature.

Very well optioned Pink Frigidaire Range

The price is more in the realm of restored appliances, but it is a very high end Frigidaire range, embodying the Sheer Look. https://dayton.craigslist.org/app/d/dayton-mcm-range-frigidaire-pink/7377768246.html

ISO 1962-1964 GE Spacemaker refrigerator (preferably 1963)

My parents neighbors have a very high end time capsule house with the exception of their refrigerator. It was built in 1963 and has an Americana range. I told them I’d help them hunt down a refrigerator if at all possible. Hinges on the right/handle on the left is the preferred arrangement...

    Free 1965 GE Dishwasher

Hey Rollermatic, Check your email! I have the machine back in Ohio, it’s in the back of Volvoguy87’s Vehicle. How soon can we meet you? Also, if either KitchenAid is in operable condition with a set of Avacado panels, let’s talk.

    Free 1965 GE Dishwasher

Hi Pete, Next time I’m in Georgia, I’ll bring it back up with me, and we can figure out where to meet!

    Free 1965 GE Dishwasher

It’s a project dishwasher. The cabinet does have some rust around the seal, but it’s not gotten to the point that it’s unsalvageable. The motor on the other hand will need to be repaired or replaced. The racks are pretty nice. I got this to match my refrigerator, but I’m going to use a...

    Cause I’m a crafty bitch. DE806

So...the felt seal on the Halo of Heat is NLA, and the only ones out there are $35-$38. At an inch wide, that makes the felt over $1200 a yard. I think not. I went to Michael’s, found some coordinating 100% Wool Felt and felting needles and made my own. If Volvoguy87 can find the high heat...

    1957 GE Automatic Calrod

I’d love to get the dual coil, automatic burner functioning, but it seems like that may just be a dream. I see people talking about converting to the piano keys or to infinite heat, but I can’t find any information on the how or what is needed. If you convert to infinite heat, can you still...

    Frigidaire French Door Help!

I picked up a 1956 Frigidaire Sherwood Green Frigidaire range, because I thought I was turquoise. :/ Anyway, we want to get it working but the mechanism for the doors is broken. Anyone have a diagram, pictures, or experience with repairing this? We disassembled it, but one of the springs got...

    Vintage range powder coating

Has anyone powder coated a range before? I’m looking at ranges and I can’t find what I need in turquoise for anything reasonable. I found what I want in white, could powder coating be the solution? It’s rated to 400 degrees. I can’t imagine the surface of the range is 400 degrees to the touch.

    Venting a Frigidaire Flair?

I just recently discovered that some Frigidaire models have vent hoods built in. Are these just recirculating units, or can these be vented outside?

    KDW-5 Help!

PDub, you’re an angel! Thank you. The gaskets can easily be remade, but the drip shield was going to be a major challenge. I’m thinking a coat of POR-15 before the installation may be in order.

    KDW-5 Help!

We’re fixing the KDW-4 and one of the metal plates between the motor and gaskets has rusted out. Is this a piece that is a) still available, b) someone has one that they don’t need, c) replaceable with something besides metal? The gaskets are shot too, but that can be an RTV creation if they...

The Cimarron to my Cavalier, Easy Twin Tub WS-291, my holy grail.

After picking up the Grey easy last weekend, the best optioned twin tub I’ve ever seen came up. This is also a Hupp machine, with timer, on/off, fill/drain faucet, and that’s that? Two speeds! I didn’t even know that was a thing. It’s not quite as nice as the pictures, there are some...
