And she wondered why it wouldn't dry/how to blow a hole in your halo: Part II

Some time ago, Dave and I brought home a set of 806's, and the previous owner didn't realize the dryer had a lint filter (see link). After I finally figured out how to get the pulley off the back, Dave took it apart so we could clean and lube the machine. It's very clean inside, so I'm posting...

    Our Kitchen.

Tan Irish Linen It's under the Canadian Exclusives section. I want them to come out with the red linen again. That's my favorite formica. http://formica.com/publish/site/na/us/en/index/laminate/series/canada_exclusives.html#

Pan handling in a parking lot what do you do?

I don't typically carry much, if any cash, so I just ask them, "Do you take credit cards?"

    Our Kitchen.

Actually, you're the first person who's ever appreciated the chair as a Thonet chair, everyone else just thought it was a crappy cheap thing I got at the thrift store. I bought it for it's pseudo art noveauesqueness.

    Our Kitchen.

No, the kitchen certainly isn't horrible. I've seen far worse. It photographs better than it actually looks though. When the pantry is removed (there's an area to create another, larger pantry) I will either take the newer layers (plywood, vinyl, vinyl) up and have the floors (4" pine)...

    A Shocking Confession

I dislike them for everything except their practicality. I am also not a fan of air conditioning, but I distinctly dislike looking at ceiling fans, particularly in the public spaces of a house. Give me a gasoiler or electrolier any day. Awnings, curtains, open windows and desk fans are the way...

Who made this? (Considering the set)

I e-mailed Mike. Our hobbies are already too expensive to be fighting and paying way more than we need to for things that inevitably will require more money once we get them. If this were a TOL turquoise or pink automatic washer and dryer, I might feel differently. :) Wes

    Some good stuff in Cincinnati!

I just hope they work! We have 5 washers (Two Centerdial Maytags, Two Lady Kenmores, and a speed queen wringer) and only one is presently functioning as it should be. This will make two more (not including the 4 dryers that are down thereas well) machines that I HOPE are functional! My basement...

Who made this? (Considering the set)

Well, I bid on it, but aren't impeller dishwashers NOT known for their amazing cleaning ability? (That's Dave's take, don't shoot the messenger)

Who made this? (Considering the set)

That doesn't mean it'll get to make it into the kitchen necessarily! Or if it does, not on a permanent basis. Dishwashers just don't look right in an 1892 kitchen. I know that houses were remodeled, but gas lights don't look right in a 1950s kitchen, so that just wouldn't do, now would it?

Who made this? (Considering the set)

Interesting 50's kitchen set, and look, there's a sprayer too. Is anyone familiar with the company that produced the cabinetry, or who the dishwasher manufacture was farmed out to? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160397552294&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

This is what happens when you can't say no...

We get all sorts of stuff at the Building Value here. I'll keep my eyes open. Colorful fixtures pop up a lot. I've seen blue, green, pink, peach, maroon, gray, black. The white sink was $15, and the white toilet was $20. Sometimes, they even show up with legs (saw a powder blue one with legs...

    Good Ironing board

I love my wood ironing board! I hate the squeaky flimsy metal boards (especially the ones that have a wire mesh top). The only thing I don't like is that they're just a little too short. I think they're geared towards housewives, who apparently tend to be a little bit shorter than me. Same...

This is what happens when you can't say no...

This is AFTER cleaning! There is a matching table to the three dinette chairs. (A nice garbage find, as was the canister vacuum) When I started, there was a path to the laundry, well, I hesitate to call it a room, more like a laundry laboratory, and no path to the furnace room. I have a lot or...

Naturally, we all have this problem. Things follow you home. You don't necessarily need it, certainly not right away. But it's there, and it's cheap, and suddenly you look around and you wonder what happened. I was cleaning the basement tonight, and I started arranging stuff, and I figured I'd...
