Did anyone ever use Dishwasher All?

Dishwasher All That was all we used, until they discontinued it. We used Electra-sol than my folks got a Kitchen Aid Custom, and my mom started buying Safeway's brand in the bucket. it worked fine Until they stopped selling that, then they switched to Cascade Complete. Where they lived had...

KDS-18 and Westinghouse cooktop, oven and hood

Westinghouse Ovens I was very fond of the 50's style, where the controls were below the oven. Their cooktops were pretty darn good as well. They burners were pretty responsive to raising, or lowering the heat. Hugs, David

    I got a Westinghouse dryer

Great looking dryer They do run hot, and with a new belt, run very quietly. One downside is that they tend to go through thermostats faster then other makes. My mom had a 1956, and dried a lot of our stuff on low heat. since yours does not have that option, I would watch the time that you set...

    Spin Spray

HEY APPNUT I hear you on the Whirlpool/Kenmore products. I hated them for their lousy Neutral drain. It never made sense to me why you would want the washer to redeposit all the crap you just washed out, to settle back on to the clothes. Also if you had the waterfall filter, as soon as the...

First and second generation HE washer performance tests.

I agree with Bob By the time it fills and washes, a front load machine would be half done, and truly clean clothes would emerge. they waste too much time for my liking. They fiddly fart around too much. Just my opinion, and heaven only knows, I could be wrong! Hugs, David

    POD 1/20/2021

BENDIX ECONOMAT I know that Robert did a video of his wringing the clothes, but I, as of yet, have not seen a video of one washing, and rinsing. Does anyone have the ability to video one in action? I would be most interested in seeing one in action. Thanks in advance. Hugs, David

    Suicidal Poinsettias

Silk Poinsettias I have found over the years, that if i buy silk poinsettias, I don't kill them. lol I got tired of loving the look of them but tired of picking up leaves off the floor, So I went to nice quality silk varieties, and have not killed one of those since. LOL Hugs, David

    BD Kenmore

Straight Vane Agi I was never that fond of the Kenmore straight vanes. The roll over was pretty slow, unless they were lightly loaded. I was much fonder of their Roto Swirl agi's. The rolled over a good sized load with ease. Hugs, David

Do Any garbage Disposals Have "Sharp blades"?

best sharpner ever Run the disposer with egg shells, chicken bones, ice cubes, and follow it up with a wedge of lemon, or orange. This all works like a charm. Last house we lived at had a very old Kenmore unit, that was dull as Hell! Consistently ran the above through it, and used for 16 years...

Lorain Furniture (Cleveland, Ohio) Maytag A806 restoration...

Love Eugenes videos I had to laugh in watching the 806 rebuild video. The music made it seem like the Cavalry should be galloping up, to save the damsel washer in distress! Perhaps to untie it from the tracks, Before the locomotive ran it over. Send in the Mounties! Hugs, David

    Magnalite/WagnerWare Cleaning

Brillo Pads I use Brillo Pads on my aluminum cookware/bakeware, and it keeps it shiny, and very useable. you do have to put some effort in to it, but worthwhile. I also like Brillo better than SOS, as they resist rusting better, and the soap seems to last longer. They also seem to be more...

1958-59 Waste King dishwasher and pink appliances (Fortville, IN)

Great Machine Congratulations on a very nostalgic machine! I miss the earlier machines with the bow tie dial. These machines are pretty good washers, but loud as hell. Great thing is they really move the water. David

    GE heavy duty 18 set

BEAUTIIFUL SET Those are real beauties! They are also real strong workhorses! If I remember correctly, the straight vane agi's in these were good, but with a full load, was a little weak in The turnover dept. Again congratulations, as the set Filters better then anything else out there. Not to...

    Rotating waffle makers

ASK HENRY FONDA He was being interviewed by Johnny Carson, after the Jane Fonda, prison camp debacle, Henry said "children are like waffles, you ought to be able to throw the first one away". He was a huge patriot, and did not forgive her until they filmed "On Golden Pond". That was many years...

POD Norge.... family jewels on view.........

The Man on page 602 I saw this the day the catalog arrived. This is not a water spot on the page! The model later sued Sears for something like 7 million, and won. Sears said the person proofing these pages had been out sick, and when he came back, they were late getting it to print, so they...

    question lg washer wm4500hba

LG WASH WELL I have a model , comparable to yours, that's two years old. I have had zero issues, and they wash very well. Mine has the older turbo wash system, and I think the whole system is a great cleaning system. I would not hesitate to buy another one, after this! Hugs, David
