    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Thirty-two

Matt, I like that GE coffee table stereo. I guess you could place an area rug runner in front of the sofa to cover the cord. The Canadian brand Electrohome made several styles tool

    Modern Living: Part Seventeen

A house in my neighborhood has the 2 car garage stuffed with mid century furniture case goods she buys and cleans up and restores. No blonde, only walnut and pecan colors.

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

Those warranty plans are rip offs period. Anyone who pays even a quarter or a third of a vehicle payment per month for coverage is a poor money manager. Throwing good money after bad. Why pay for half of a new item each year in coverage?

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Well, that was quite a long involved dissertation Dave. Not a bad economic or industrial design thesis.

Re; Frigidaire Flair range. I've always admired it for style. We visited Cavalcade last month. It's Kevin 313's private collection museum. He told us that his Flair was the most expensive stove he has because it was in the house he bought up in Crosswell Mi. He said he'd never cook on one...

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

My Samsung front loader also defaults to one rinse but you can select up to 4. I occasionally use one rinse on quick wash and it begins with a short spin rinse while pumping the detergent out. The fill time is longer than with more rinses. Never been disappointed with it.

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Thirty-one

Wow Eddie! TV sets were more expensive then. You were buying a fine piece of furniture and a TV. I remember my cousins 1969 Zenith Danish modern console. Beautiful walnut cabinet with two speakers. I think it cost about $700. My uncle's net pay was $150 per week. I saw him counting with my aunt...

Mine too Eddie ☺️. A man I worked with lost a 40 years young son age 40 in March. He was a foodie but a pizza connoisseur.

I've seen him. Eh. So many others too and they don't know half of what members here know. I don't agree with telling shoppers to avoid certain features or brands which differ very little between each. Things are what they are. You need appliances to clean, chill, cook and freeze. Choices are...

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

The bedding cycle on my Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. front load washer is a deep water slow reversing for comforters. I use quick wash for one sheet set. You can select hot for it, not steam, and it does not fill with any cold water.

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

Cool Robert! I guess 18 years is good for an LG, or any new unit. My sister in law has the GE combo. The motor was just replaced under warranty. Less than 2 years old.

Here's one you don't see much of anymore

Pstehe, your above post searches differently. The Astre' was introduced in 1973, and the engine was blue., then Pontiac metallic blue for 1975, and corporate blue for '77. The Vega aluminum engine was an unpainted block, with grey heads and valve cover. Later 2.5 Dukes were black after 1984. So...

    NIB Kenmore refrigerator.

With any modern engine with variable valve timing, etc, catastrophic failure can be caused when a phaser is out of sink or fails, or a chain or belt stretches. If the valves strike the piston, it's end game. It seems the internal combustion engine is nearing the end of it's finite life. So the...

Here's one you don't see much of anymore

The sub compact rear drive H body cars from GM weren't so bad. Once the Vega got the Pontiac Iron Duke 4. I drove a '79 Skyhawk V6 that rode and drove nice. You could get a small V8 in a Monza too. Most rusted out in 5 years in a winter salted roads state. The next gen. J cars weren't much...

    NIB Kenmore refrigerator.

I haven't read anything with proof of this dan. Possibly if certain cylinders are under load more than the ones not, but modern programming of the fuel and spark with the solenoid controls alternate the sharing of load.

    Kmart Grand Opening in 1975

I do remember Frigidaire at K Mart. I don't think those ugly ash trays are very Brady bunch. More like Haight-Asbury 1970.

1975 Model Dishwasher Ratings from Consumer Reports

Nothing on DM/Kenmore. Odd. $300-$400 bought a nice Roto-rack Lady K in either built in or a portable with a real butcher block oak or maple top. I remember they got dishes clean.
