    Front-Loader Mini-Quick?

LG Turbo Wash "speed cycle" runs 15 (light) to 25 (heavy soil) and is surprisingly effective, probably due to the recirc jet. The manual suggests it's only for 3 to 5 items and I've followed that rule, especially because the normal cycle with turbo option and light soil is 25 minutes and seems...

    Single Speed Washers?

I use delicate on the LG FL for sweaters and crew neck sweatshirts, whose collars always seem to get out of shape after a while, so I'm trying to prolong their "like-new" life. Also, ski clothes, oodles and oodles of ski clothes go on delicate--ski pants, long underwear, turtlenecks, knee high...

The Instant Pot: Who Has One/What Do You Think Of It?

I love mine, especially at altitude here where some foods seem to take forever to cook. Any recipe I already have, there is a copycat recipe adapted for the instant pot by others online and I've never had one turn out badly. Another plus is it blows rice cookers I've used out of the water. I...

    Exploding Whirlpool Washer in MN.

The LG turbo wash steps up to 1300 rpm gradually but stays at that speed for quite a while. In fact, choosing the "extra high" spin speed adds about 2 minutes to many cycles.

About to pul the trigger on...

I have the same model but without the onboard heater and it works GREAT. Love the turbo wash feature and how short the cycles are. It gets stains out that I've had for years and my Frigidaire/Kenmore FL couldn't touch. The matching dryer is nice and quiet and dries very evenly. I don't have to...

    Craftsman is headed to... Lowe's?

Raises many questions, including if the lifetime guarantee on Sears-bought products will still be honored http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/lowes-welcomes-craftsman-tools-to-their-stores-251859

    can anyone identify this dishwasher?

Definitely a Jenn Air. Don't be fooled by the dial, it's still an electronic control. http://img.homeportfolio.com/cms/668912/jenn-air174-dishwashers-jdb2150awp-500.jpg

    Loving the Atlantis.

Shouldn't be very hard. My grandparents have had a similar model under the Maytag brand for 19 years and counting. Theirs doesn't have the nice badge on the front but it does have a bell and a moisture monitor.

    Front/rear/side driveways

Here in Colorado lots of the new construction has an interesting take on the alley format. The houses are on the lot "backwards", that is, with the garage in the back of the house, on the street, and the front of the house on the opposite side, away from the street. I like it as it seems like a...

    New Portable Whirlpool Dishwasher Arrives

RE: silverware basket You'll love this! It's the silverware basket, cup clips, knife holder, and Tupperware lid clips that Whirlpool used to include in some machines. I bought this for an ultra wash a few apartments ago and it improved loadability a ton. It has one small silverware basket with...

    Duet Squeaks During Wash Tumbles

My direct drive LG does this sometimes. Less than a year old.

    DIshwasher Detergent Reccomendations

Love the Costco store brand pacs. They are very lightly scented and they do a good job.

I've never seen this model Kenmore before...

I should add it was not a Lady Kenmore, just a Kenmore.

I've never seen this model Kenmore before...

My mom had this one. It was a 90 series with variable water level, 3 ATC temps and 5 regular temps, and an extra rinse selector. Also had the "triple dispenser", though we never used it. Not sure what year it was as it came with the house. We had it about ten years before it kicked the bucket...

    LG TALL stack at Lowes

To make this worse, LG dryers have a water reservoir for steam in the drawer on the control panel. Mine are stacked and that thing is already a pain as is. Can't wait to have them side by side when my lease is up.

Frances Gabe, Creator of the Only Self-Cleaning Home, Dies at 101

Vastly impractical to be sure but I love the amount of thought and effort that went into it.

Frances Gabe, Creator of the Only Self-Cleaning Home, Dies at 101

"Equal parts quixotic dreamer and accomplished visionary, Ms. Gabe made the house do its own scrubbing." There's a video, patents, animations, and more. Looks like the implementation was only ever partially realized but still--wow...

    Maytag Performa Dishwasher

Don't know much about these but I've always been a sucker for anything with a heat delay light ¯&#92_(ツ)_/¯
