Having developed my own detergent; Rosalie's Zero Suds; and always recommended hot or warm wash I was gobsmacked to try New Tide Professional. The claim is professional stains gone in 1 wash in COLD. Now normally I would brush this off, but I know P&G have been in the lab these last two years...

Rescued! 1948 Gyramatic in good restorable condition!

Well It was back to Docrtine this week, the machine failed to power the tub on wash or spin. So the whole motor set had to come out and be disassembled. We were looking for missing woodruff keys, broken gears any thing. It also would not shift down into tumble just stayed in spin. All that...

Rescued! 1948 Gyramatic in good restorable condition!

the tools John E found if you can solder off the can top on the timer you can get in and re-lubricate the gears. As long as you see the windings are not open, then its probably dry bearings. Tuf Oil is always in my kit it lubricates and bonds to the metal. But a new rust buster has come to...

Permanent Press Cooldown That Fills While Agitating

I remember our 1970 Imperial stated in the owners manual that during PP Cool down the machine would agitate/drain to keep the clothes moving so that creasing was minimized. That was the whole point of cooling down the wash water in stages.
