Some new arrivals: A Frigidaire, Wilkins Servis, Simpson Dryer & a Pope wringer

What a find... Leon these bring back such memories. The Simpson dryer truly reserved for the wealthy. The Frigidaire semi automatic belonged to a neighbor (Pat) who was locked out of the house because the machine on spin danced over the laundry door whilst she was hanging the first load of...

Interesting brochure.....An Aussie 1960's ASTOR made under licence to APEX !

I remember this machine... sold at H.G. Palmer stores. It may have been under license from APEX USA but it did have a gearbox and agitator. The bowl was light green/cream fibreglass, you could see the fibres and as the years went by and the phosphates did their thing the resin wore down and the...

    Seriously Contemplating a Restaurant

So here is how it goes in Palm Springs...and no doubt the re As you come into town you stop at the visitors center, there you open a trust account and deposit half of your colateral. You then continue to town and find a possible venue (generally an already defunct restaurant space)you submit...

    Funny... Front Loaders are Junk

Trailer Trash Could not tell who was squawking the most, her or the parakeet with dirty water. Time to have some new supports installed before the trailer gets completely knocked of its foundation. I love front loaders.[this post was last edited: 3/6/2011-15:14]

Australian friends hepl please - SIMPSON washer

Simpson/FisherPaykel Sorry my friend, piece of junk. Goodness knows how it ended up over there. Full of plastic, the agitator is a dead give away for F/P. For several years Simpson, Hoover and Westinghouse put their own name on these F/P machines. Some made in Aus and some in NZ. You can see...

    Bosch DW noisie pump

Last week my 5 yr old Bosch dishwasher wouldn't drain. I cleaned all the filters and traps still no drain, then my partner Earl dismantaled the anti syphon valve ( the thing that mounts on the sink) and found a small chicken bone lodged in the valve, which blocked the hose, not allowing the...

First snow of winter is here!

Stupidity Here in California the Edison company arrives and will remove any tree, branch or palm fron that poses such a liability to the delivery of power to it's consumers. Late model automobiles, boat and houses, price to remove tree "outrageous". Does not make sense. I certainly do not want...

First snow of winter is here!

Tree Why don't you spend a few bucks and have the tree removed since it is half dead and then you will not have to live in fear of it falling or the hassle of the insurance claim to replace everything it destroys?
