New 4 drum washing machine by Leder

I think this is old too. I’m pretty sure we saw this months ago.

    Samsung 240 volt Vented Combo!

There was a YT video i watched not too long ago with Appliance Park mgmt explaining how they’ve been able to invest more domestically (with Haier mgmt over big GE mgmt (the quiet part)) and insource more parts. The only parts they were keeping outsourced were elections and motors. They’re making...

Maytag Machines After Whirlpool Buyout - What Remained?

Oh lord this again. New machines 'can' work perfectly fine. Over the past 10years, I've had a Maytag front loader, and now an Electrolux front loader. They both use very little water, although, will do a healthy final rinse with water up to the door glass. I've washed sweaty gym clothes...

Maytag Machines After Whirlpool Buyout - What Remained?

Fun fact! My brother's house has a KitchenAid(Maytag) dishdrawer set. It's been running flawlessly in their home for about 5 years. And it was several years old before they got it. You can totally tell it's a Maytag design because the wash arms are very similar in design language to the old...

GE Appliances/Haier Moving FL Washer Manufacturing to Appliance Park, US

This is a pipe dream. Good luck. I got my engineering start interning at the fastener capitol of the nation, Rockford, IL. Since the turn of the century, it has all collapsed. All those cold headers and fastener rolling firms are closed. It’s all overseas. The ONLY stuff that’s here are complex...

Amana NTW4516FW washer has officially been discontinued???

Nope. The old Speed Queens I had in my old college apartments were black speckled porcelain drums. They were very thin and the coating was often worn through around the agitator find level, on most of the machines in the laundry rooms. Oh also (core memories coming back) my college dorms all...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

You practically live on this website Jerome. Cmon, use your problem solving skills. You haven’t picked up tips and info from other members or the experts? Voyager machines get clogged up if their chopper malfunctions or breaks. This has been common knowledge for like a decade.

Amana NTW4516FW washer has officially been discontinued???

I’d agree. While my experience is limited, the only porcelain tubs I’ve ever seen rusted were in very old machines. Like 15+yrs old back when I was a kid when those tubs were more prominent. Maytag porcelain tubs seemed the most durable. The worst porcelain tubs I saw were in Speed Queens...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

There must be some buildup Jerome. Over the years, and yes I’ve posted clips here, I’ve had clear door fronts on GE and KitchenAid dishwashers. Models that alternate washarms. And I’ve observed the jets, both top and bottom, are very strong. The bottom jets will indeed hit the ceiling. So...

    Even SQ has their issues

You can pick and choose discreet incidents all you want. The fact of the matter is, while there's been a downslide in quality lately, on a whole, automotive electronics are very reliable, and moreso than they were at their inception decades ago.

Amana NTW4516FW washer has officially been discontinued???

Hmmmm, I guess this doesn't surprise me. I'm actually surprised the porcelain coated drum lasted this long. Nobody wants to porcelain coat anything anymore. It's "dirty" and "takes too long" in the assembly process opposed to just stamping and welding a stainless steel ring with plastic end caps.

    Even SQ has their issues

It's really not the "electronics" fault. There are industries that can build and spec control boards that WILL get you a minimum of 10yrs of service or more, and consistently. Examples: Smoke/CO alarm industry (of which I was part of), will build and spec electronic parts with life and cycle...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

There's something to say about how good detergent has gotten. I know it was rough when the phosphates were removed for a bit. There were scaling and powdery coating issues, especially with Cascade in the mid 2000s. But the formulas are SO good now. The detergents definitely clean better than...

Wow…. You really think of yourself as the Noam Chomsky of appliances huh?

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

I don’t think this matters. It was a problem, and the Montreal Protocol put an end to them being used by all entities. There are now better options.

Whirlpool Dura Wash being cluelessly silly
