Dishwasher issue -- door switch not engaging

ADA compliant Frigidaire does make an ADA compliant model dishwasher - it's only 32 1/4" high. I do remember seeing one on display at Lowes and it was made in China. Stainless steel interior, but with a different washing system than other Frig models.

Production year These are model RDG-38P from 1969-70. They were the first models of the redesigned range style featuring the 180 deg infinite heat switches. The photo shows the self clean version of this model. These ranges are standard clean, with lift off oven doors.

    Anyone longing for the 1970's?

Bittersweet memories Many of us were lucky enough to live during the appliance manufacturer's great period of innovation. Our collections, large and small, show loads of cool ideas. We figured that GM Frigidaire, GE, Westinghouse and Kitchen Aid would always remain the same. I guess you don't...

    Anyone longing for the 1970's?

3 years? Tom, they show up in my 1979 Frigidaire full-line catalog that was published in August of 1978, so I assume the last 3 years of GM ownership. All GM designed ranges disappeared from the WCI lineup in 1980.

    Turquoise PowerShower

    Last full-size Kmart closing tomorrow

Last location The Bridgehampton store lies at the edge of the tony Hamptons, home to zillionaires. It’s where all their help ( housekeepers, gardeners, etc) could afford to shop as zoning is so restrictive that there’s no chance of a Walmart or Target nearby.

    Anyone longing for the 1970's?

Drop-in range That’s a late 70’s Frigidaire Compact 30 model. A variation of the Touch n Cook line. This is the only version with backsplash mounted controls. I’d gamble that the original range was like the Whirlpool in the second kitchen. I’ll post a pic when I can access my brochures.

    GE DW

early GE dishwasher Originally released in 1949-50, This unit was a completely manual dishwasher, and you had to monitor its use. The owner had to turn the water on and off, switch from wash to drain and pop the lid for air drying. As GE's first attempt in producing a portable dishwasher, they...

    1957 Home in Tallahassee, FL

"all the registers low on the floor" I believe that in the Northeast, this is common practice. Probably since warm air during heating season is provided through the same vents.

Frigidaire Compact 30 drop-in range model RBG-533 Oven won't heat

The weight of the range is supported by the countertop. There should be 4 thumb screws from underneath the cooktop that screw up into the countertop to secure it. The 48” cable should be long enough to allow removal without disconnecting the wire. I’d find something to set it on. Like a wooden box?

    Kitchen-Aid KDS-57 Dishwasher

Except The KD-17 series were the portable models that changed from the cabinet panels to a wrap-around cabinet that remains in place when converted. You can tell by looking at the rear corners and see the wraparound construction.

Frigidaire Compact 30 drop-in range model RBG-533 Oven won't heat

Frigidaire fame GM Frigidaire ranges were notorious for crappy crimped terminals, so maybe you have a burnt-off wire somewhere inside the back. Other than removing the bake unit from the oven to visually check (WITH THE POWER OFF!!!!!), it would require removing the range from the cabinet. If...
