Also, check the wiring between the thermistor and the PCB, look out for corrosion at connectors, or broken wires.

Heaters Ah - be very cautious of assuming that just any old heater will do... In the days of the Hoover 'New Wave' (electronic machine) and Hoover 'Classica' (electro-mechanical timer), the service manual stressed that the correct wattage heaters had to be sourced for a particular machine...

Did you swap the FLE3000's heater for the other heater? What model was the donor machine?

Error '1A' It would seem to suggest that either the heater element is knackered, or that the heater relay on the printed circuit board (PCB) is stuck/knackered. It could even be a burnt-out copper track on the PCB, or just cracked or aged solder. Screenshot courtesy of ManualsLib.com...

New Whirlpool designed Hotpoint... with a split tub!

And furthermore, some of the cheapskate manufacturers also moulded the pressure vessel 'bottle' into the two halves of the outer tub. That meant it could feasibly block up without easy access to it - even worse with a sealed 'non-splittable' outer tub.

New Whirlpool designed Hotpoint... with a split tub!

"Please explain the term split tub." The outer tub is made in two halves, or sometimes more like two-thirds to one-third ratio, or three-quarters to one-quarter ratio. The conventional way was to bolt or clip these halves together with a tub seal in between the halves. Easy to split apart for...

Ah, I see, thanks. Would the electric solid plate take its power via the dishwasher's mains flex, or would there be a separate feed cable or flex with plug to power the plate? Obviously there'd be a separate hose for the gas supply.

I took it to be four gas burners. One of small diameter, two of medium (diagonally offset). The rear left looks to be of a larger diameter, and the poor contrast of the photo/pic (I'm assuming) seems to have bleached out the vertical sides of the burner.

    New Dishwashers

@ozzie908 You could well be right about the 'fill and immediate drain' being softener regeneration. My machine has grand ideas about mixing the final rinse water proportions of soft water to unsoftened water. The final rinse pressure to the upper basket is also too insipid in my opinion. I...

More Fresh Heck From Miele - No More DIY Access To Spares.

From The Independent newspaper, dated 1st March 2021: Companies that sell consumer electronics such as refrigerators, washers, hairdryers, or TVs in the European Union - and in the UK - will need to ensure those goods can be repaired for up to 10 years. The change comes as a result of...

More Fresh Heck From Miele - No More DIY Access To Spares.

If that is the case, Miele have well and truly shot themselves in the foot. I will never consider buying a Miele appliance. I wonder whether 'factory production problems' due to lockdowns are causing a shortage of available parts. Their UK website keeps saying that the dishwashers are in high...

Modern AEG users, how are you finding your machines?

"delay start function is wonderful" Up to a point. I once had an AEG 1600rpm, new from 1998. This was the era of the programme knob on the left-hand side, dispenser drawer on the right-hand side. I used to run the machine on delay start, from 6am-7:30am or thereabouts, to take advantage of...

    New Dishwashers

"... a flush between each program segment." I am assuming that it is a bit like my old Bosch. After the mainwash, my Bosch drains the dirty water, then does one of two things: - It seems to fill part of the water matrix, tap is turned off, then it pours that into the tub, circulation for a...

My UK (please note locals) Hotpoint Washer/Dryer is on the fritz…

"As far as I see, all recalled Hotpoint machines were true Hotpoint designs." Hardly. That was the era of Indesit. Nuff said.

My UK (please note locals) Hotpoint Washer/Dryer is on the fritz…

Chinese Haier owns Hoover Candy. These days I equate all three as 'Rubbish'. Beko (Arcelik) owns Grundig (typically sold via Currys); Blomberg (via Euronics independents) and possibly also makes the odd washing machine for Smeg. I had a look at Hotpoint's website to see if the Hotpoint...

    French in laws

Photo #2 The Brandt dishwasher seems to be a strange beast in more ways than one. The automatic dispenser on the door seems to be only for the rinse aid. The detergent dispenser appears to be the small white receptacle, on the spray-arm feed pipe, under the upper basket.
