Samsung 18kg machines - why not here?

Hoover seems to sell three 14kg machines in Britain, no 13kg models, and four 12kg washers.

Samsung 18kg machines - why not here?

That Samsung 18kg washing machine seems to be hot and cold fill. I still wouldn't have one. Samsung aren't renowned for washing machine quality.

    Lowest suds in detergent

It is the Unilever Persil in the green box. They updated the packaging fairly recently (past year or so). I think it is classed as more concentrated. I find it clumps in the powder drawer. I just put it directly into the drum.

    Lowest suds in detergent

I have soft water, and the best controlled-suds seems to be Persil Biological Powder. I was quite surprised that I could put in 60, 70, 80 ml and the suds weren't filling the door glass. If I had tried that with Lidl 'Formil' powder, foam would be gushing out the powder drawer. As for liquids...

Somat in Australia - Henkel grows the product lines

Reply #12, photo #1 The 'Sunlight All-in-1' looks like the pink tablet, but is coloured a bluey-green instead. These tablets have soft, pliable dissolvable wrappers, packaged in polythene bags of 26 tablets; two such bags in a box of 52 tablets. Price was about £4.00. The box depicts...

Bosch dishwasher woes - chasing repair manual

"Gosh they are rotten things to work on compared to washing machines, too..." I think you're quite right, regarding the modern machines. Tho older machines were easier to access (access from underneath). With the new ones, it's more of a complete strip down.

Somat in Australia - Henkel grows the product lines

Unilever dishwasher detergent I came across a variant of the Unilever 'Sun' brand in a cheap shop... 'Sunlight All-in-1'. It seems to be made for the Hungarian, Polish, Czech and Romanian sector, foreign languages printed on the box, and an English sticky label was stuck on. It caught my...

Somat in Australia - Henkel grows the product lines

Dishwasher salt in Australia From Finishinfo.com.au: "Most metropolitan areas in Australia have soft to medium water which means that adding dishwasher salt is not necessary. The most populated hard water areas are around Adelaide and parts of Brisbane. Other areas of Australia do suffer from...

Bosch dishwasher woes - chasing repair manual

Reply #11 Yes, I do believe that is the heater element. It loops almost full circle, the shank with the spade connector protrudes through the pump fascia, at right angles to the loop of the heater.

Bosch dishwasher woes - chasing repair manual

Flow-through heaters Ah, but isn't the Miele flow-through heater more like a conventional immersion type heater, looped within the wash pump? The Bosch heater seems to be more of a 'printed onto steel tube' design. In fact it reminds me of the 'Blake's 7' teleporter bracelets.

Bosch dishwasher woes - chasing repair manual

At least you got it sussed. It's a pity Bosch had the daftness to create a flimsy wash pump - with the heater in the same unit. Obviously the accountants had control of that design.

Bosch dishwasher woes - chasing repair manual

Before you do anything else, have you checked the 'flow-through sensor'? This meters the water entering the machine. Apparently they do go wrong, magnetic Hall-sensor or some such. According to the exploded diagrams, it is a component (replaceable), within the water matrix heat exchanger...

    Cascade Platinum over sudsing

I've been experimenting a bit with the P&G 'Fairy Platinum Plus' version. Cold water seems to cause excessive foaming. So I don't put it in the prewash, I put it in the mainwash dispenser. The warmer water (cold, heated by prewash to 40°C) seems to dull the suds a bit - but not always. I've...

    UK Creda Spacesaver Dishwasher

'Detergent Save System' I think that was just a marketing ploy, based on Zanussi's idea of having a downward-firing water jet on the bottom spray arm. With the Zanussi method, that bottom arm water jet swept down the hollow, central funnel of this filter, out through the bottom hole between...

Miele USA W1's Water Inlet Error After Prewash

Reply #86 I still think Miele has employed a daft programming methodology. You would think that even with cap dosing, they could flush the detergent/booster sooner or later in the cycle - and still use the Powerwash process. Unless, of course, their thinking is 'CapDosing = full load only'...

Miele USA W1's Water Inlet Error After Prewash

Powerwash It seems to be a very odd implementation if cap dosing, prewash, extra rinse or no final spin are selected. I would have thought that cap dosing would have no effect on the ability to apply powerwash to the load. As for prewash, surely a higher level prewash followed by a reasonably...

Reply #12... Appears to show 'Made in UK', on top right of control panel. I wonder whether it was made from scratch here? Or whether the unassembled parts were imported and assembled here, with a locally made fascia? The one I saw had a white or off-white control panel. I'm not sure that it...

What happening to my washing machine?

I'm assuming the aluminium alloy drum-spider is fractured. Does the drum revolve smoothly, or is it off-centre/wobbly/eccentric motion?
