    SQ - difference between TW04 and TW01

Perfect, thanks. The TW01 was at a used appliance store, open M-F, 9-5. Impossible for those of us who work. Guy answering the phone (Cousin of the owner, apparently), offered to come in over the weekend for me to get it. He's a "real worker" he said. Which I should have known would...

    SQ - difference between TW04 and TW01

Looking at two used Speed Queen AWN432 washers. One from 2015 ends with model number TW01; the other from 2017 ends with model number TW04. What's the difference?

    Newer Kenmores any good?

There's a used Kenmore washer and dryer near me for sale. Looks like a 2017 manufacturing date by serial. Washer is 110.22242511. I have a 20+ year old Kenmore, series 80 or 90, direct drive, that just won't quit. Except it's starting to rot from the inside out. Drum is starting to go...

Help picking out parts for a rebuild of a Kenmore 110.20882990

I have an old Kenmore 110.20882990 that works just fine (So I hate to mess with it!) But I KNOW the basket is really corroded and rusty, and the tub is disgusting and needs a thorough cleaning. Never been apart it's entire life, and I REFUSE to get rid of it! So before I start ripping this...

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

Think I'll run in to problems swapping the inner tub if the shaft is really corroded? Would really like to swap it and clean outer basket.

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

Wow, yeh - didn't pull the inner tub yet. Didn't want to go any further and potentially have the washer out of service for a week waiting for parts. Did you replace the driveshaft, etc. when you refurbed for your mom? If so, how involved is it for a diy'er that's mechanically inclined (AKA I...

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

Thanks - we always did cold water because it cleaned (We felt) just fine. We don't use any special "cold" detergent. But will certainly re-evaluate hot and cold! Will most likely stick with a top loader. We certainly do get dirty - sometimes. So happy to have the unit that works better...

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

Thanks for the info. Good to know. The amount of gunk on the outer tub at the top is crazy!

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

Thanks - those part numbers I listed are right then? Interesting info on the reason for the rust. Never heard that before (Never bothered to investigate either.) Wife would prefer a front-loader because it's "more economical." But I keep hearing about issues with them. And I did the math...

Replacing porcelain tub with stainless steel

My wife has been complaining that our washer stinks. So figured I'd take it apart and clean it. I knew it would have all kinds of fun gunk under the hood. But I didn't expect the amount of rust on the tub shaft. Wow! Really bad. To me, that's even worse than the smell - our clothes are...
