My first Christmas present... ....brought all this (there were six aqua highball glasses to start off with-now only two) plus some beautiful vintage pyrex aqua stenciled bakeware. Am I ever a lucky one this year!

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

The Flair has already..... .....been busy pumping out the pies (sweet potato and cherry pictured) and has yet to take care of the ham and 24# turkey plus all the numerous side dishes. Seventeen friends will partake in the festivities. Just in case the load becomes a bit too much for the Flair...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

I just keep picking up things off the street. Found this chair the other day in a pile of items that had a big sign in front of them with the word "FREE" written on it. It sure blends right in with everything else I have found for the living room Now if I could only find an aqua Mixmaster and...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

The moving and collecting... ...is still going on but now it's coming time to cease all that and start preparing for those wonderful holidays. The house is coming along just fine but I still am searching for more old wall hangings and period art. Here's something I spotted in a friend's garage...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

Have been trying mickeyd's suggestions and I do believe I'm becoming more comfortable with the spin rinses. I take the clothes off the line and they seem soft with no soap residue. This is a big thing for me as all I have ever been used to has been one gigantic deep rinse. I am not tho'...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

I then ran a second load.... .....of towels which I treated the same way when it was time to put them in the spindrier. When I took them off the line this evening, I detected a bit of stiffness in the towels. Now whether that is just me still entertaining some doubts about this new way of...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

Finally got some time this morning... ...to go out and get down to some serious washing in the Easy Spindrier! Washed a load of sheets first and divided the load in half when placing it in the spindrier. I turned on the spinner and ran it for a short time to extract the water from the washed...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

Yes, Patrick... ....I am glad you brought that up. I am needing to focus on that issue next as things will come to a standstill if I dont't have the back of the guest house closed in so I can line up and display my "chosen" washers out there. The washers are house presently in the three...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

I'm back again... ....after a very busy week at work. Haven't had any time to "play" with the Easy since the initial startup last Monday but there is always this weekend. ((--:: I do believe the reason it looks so blemish free (and it is) is that is was put into storage in 1968 (in a corner of...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

Thanks to all of you... ..for your comments and pointers, a few of which I need to question further in a future posting. Right now I'm off to work but want to let you know that it's home and runs very well. AND no leaks! I did load it upright and stapped it in very tightly with lots of packing...

    Question about Easy Spindriers

I will be picking up my "new" Easy Spindrier tomorrow and it will be at least a 2 hour ride back home before it is unloaded. I am wondering IF it can ride those two hours on its back--in other words not standing straight up, without harming any of the mechanical components and not having any oil...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

I can't stop.... ....hauling home things I tell myself I can't live without. I think I have a problem! I swear, everytime I go out "browsing" in thrift stores and garage sales, which I tell myself is just for fun-something to while away a few hours, I come home with the truck bed at least one...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

And by no means.... ...could I ever forget to take along my GE tube combo unit that I purchased new in 1963. It works well but does need to be taken apart and all contacts given a good cleaning. The old record players are great for playing my 78 rpm records.

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

Thought I'd keep posting.... ....items of interest that are going in the house. Like this Voice of Music portable phonagraph. I had one just like it when I was a kid back in the 50s. The button in the lower right corner of the face is of interest. When records are playing and the lid is closed...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

And this is......... .....what my dear Cheryl found in a thrift store 1800 miles from here, thought it would fit into the "period" theme I am doing with the house and hauled it back home. Needs a little sanding and staining but otherwise it is fabulous. She is on another trek right now and I...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

It dawned on me..... .....that I have never posted any pictures of the outside landscaping. Here is a shot of the "cactus farm" that is in the front and middle of the circle driveway. There are also some beautiful ocotillos.

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

I'm just amazed........ ...at what I'm gathering together in my "travels" for the new place. And much to my surprise I find I'm not alone in this venture. I have come to realize that a number of my friends also share my passion and are calling me with items they've come across that they think...

Can a Flair range be saved...no matter what??????

Pretty soon.... .....you all will have seen every nook and cranny of my home and be familiar with every stick of furniture in it. ((--:: Pictured is a headboard I found while "saleing". It is similar to the dresser and night tables I have and has that 60s look so I brought it home. It was then...
