I know... This is why we went with the MDB7600AWB TOL Maytag in 2/28/05. It tells you how long the cycle will continue on a digital display. Even the old Kenmore from 9/8/97 had a display. I want to see exactly how long we are in the cycle and what mode it's in.

Wow! Amazing to see old 1970's Maytag. Just a darn shame it has gone to the dogs now. And I now very scared Maytag would be slapped on a so obvious WP DW, like what happened to the W/D pair.

Nice going! At last, I comment on the Speed Queens. Good going on picking the set that does a REAL warm/hot wash, not dumbed down, and wise to pick Speed Queen with a long, brisk agitator, not the boring shredtator. And good for SQ on doing a very detailed manual, not the lame, boring WP style...

Congrats on your new washer! I notice the dreaded Energy Star Label. I suspect the Water level is very low, but I'm more afraid to think that Hot is warm and Super Hot is only 120 degrees. Good luck washing!

Great Washer, Vintagesearch! I always wanted to see the shredmore in action on low speed. BTW, mielabor, it does have the extra rinse, but there isn't a button that has it, like mine when we were in Boston.

As stated before, you'd think for the century old Maytag, everything would be brought back like it was in the 70's, but NO. They HAD to slap Maytag on a so obvious Whirlpool thing. And that also comes with the oh so boring Whirlpool Manual. Same goes for Amana, from my surf on that website...

Oh, one more thing The Neptune Dryer dries clothing very fast. No fussing around to see if everything is COMPLETELY dry before heading to the Press Care mode.

As stated in the other thread, I enjoy the Neptunes. They wash well and are virtually silent. And it does a real hot/warm wash, the way it should be. Boy I regretted leaving those behind last year for the renters to use. The Kenmore 80 series washer was way too loud, it would make clothing...

As for rentals (Ellerdale Dr., Cherry Blossom and Chase and Betty Jean), they all didn't clean well, but Chase gets my nod the the WORST rental dishwasher. It's so loud, you had the blast the stereo up 6 notches to drown out the noise. Also you couldn't run it at night, for you'd stayed away...

I went to Sears to explore washer a month ago and I, too was disgusted by how many washers were whirlpool rip-offs. Everything ranging from the boring neutral drain, down to the knobs and the infamous "Shredtator". Who knows what could be next when the neptunes get discontinued this fall?

I've had the MAH 4000 series since 4/8/99. Despite it's bad press, it's been working flawlessly.
