I had this happen on the KDS-18. It was broken glass in the pump that damaged the impeller. Removed the broken glass and replaced the impeller. Good as new. Jim

Take it back I also think you should take it back for a refund. It may have all the features you like and look good.... but what good is it if it does not work? I'm guessing it was discontinued because it is a LEMON model. They usually do not discontinue winner models.
