    Vintage Hotpoint DW

loading the lower rack Do you have to remove the top rack before you load the bottom rack? I've watched the video of Harriet's new HP D'washer and I think she took it out first, loaded the bottom, put the top back on and loaded it, then dumped some detergent on the door and closed it...

    splish,splash ,dishes taking a bath

impeller machines When I was a child, many people in our neighborhood had impeller machines, unfortunately we didn't have a dishwasher. I don't know how well they cleaned but I would think that with today's enzyme detergents they would clean much better than in the past. c'villewasherboy

    MIB Maytag Agitator

Maytags I still wish I had my 1987 Maytag Washer. Actually wish I still had my 1996 Maytag Washer and Dryer. Nobody makes anything to come close to those machines. Now I have a WP that is about ten years old, I think. It has the corkscrew "bangarator." c'villewasherboy

    Modified Agitator

Changing the agitator, upping the agitation speed and shortening the arc was the WORST thing that Maytag ever did that I can remember. I still wish I had my 1987 pair before these changes were made. My Mom has the smaller tub of the above and that's all you hear is the swish, swish, swish...

    1955 Whirlpool in Louisville

We had a 1965 RCA Whirlpool set--I'm not sure when the RCA was dropped. We had an RCA color television--our first one.

    Whirlpool Cabrio

oasis vs cabrio I think the oasis has a "tinted" window and the cabrio has a clear window. This seems to be a difference in the HE's vs. the duet's. I don't know why anyone would want a tinted window, I want to see what's going on in there--a big reason why I wouldn't have bought the former...

    Maytag DW($.01?)

1980's Maytags I had one just like this in the late 1980's. I still wish they made them, I could stuff so much in there and it was always clean. I personally liked the reverse loading/racking very much and wish something like that was available nowdays.
