    Scientific view on (US) washers

Re: spray rinse vs "fill" rinse Re: spray rinse vs "fill" rinse On my new SQ TC5000, the ECO/Normal cycle uses a spray rinse. BUT, if you add the option of an extra rinse, the spray rinse doesn't happen; you get two filled rinses.

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

FWIW: I had to do a warm wash today and it fully filled with 85° warm water. I will test the "cool" temps tomorrow to see if starts at warm and finishes with cool or cold.

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

    >Cool water setting: Mine fills partly with true warm, then finishes the fill with >some cold, so there is a difference between warm and cool. Good point. When testing the water temperatures, I only measured the temps for a few seconds. So if, as you say, there was a possibility that an entire...

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

Water temps tested on "ECO" and "Heavy Duty" and were identical in both settings: Water Heater Setting = 120° Hot = 118° Warm = 85° Cool = 85° Cold = 60° I was quite surprised that there was NO difference between Warm and Cool temps. I repeated this twice to see if I had made and error...

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

From DADoES: > Have you checked to confirm the temperature you're getting in the tub after fill > is complete? My understanding is that the Normal Eco cycle does not run a full > hot or warm fill. It fills with the selected temperature for couple mins at most > at the start, then changes to...

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

I paid full list price for the TC5000 ($1,039), including delivery and take-away of the 28-year old Kitchenaid (plus tax). Searching the Internet, I found one place somewhere in the mid-West advertising that they would sell it for a couple of hundred less, but that was a long way away from...

    TC5000wn Inaccurate Reveiws / Price

Where are you finding these reviews? I have a TC5000 and am quite happy with it, but always like to read other people's experiences with it to see if I'm missing something. In this particular case, I don't use fabric softener, so I haven't noticed the unsatisfactory performance the reviewer noted.

    New Speed Queen TC5

FWIW: the "direct-plugin" surge protector is the exact model I installed when I got my TC5000 washer. As I only use the machine once per week, I have both the washer and the surge protector unplugged most of the time. Excellent surge protection when not plugged in!

Is there anyway to stop Speed Queen INDEXING?

I have a one month old TC5000 that does some indexing. I've read that it will get better as the machine breaks in, but don't really know how putting some wear on the brakes will make them grab better.

Whirlpool Direct Drive compatible alternate agitators

I have a used dual-action agitator (and the top mounting bolt) from my recently departed Kitchenaid KAWE760 purchased new in 1991. You are welcome to it if you can use it.

Speed Queen Extends all Warranties to 10 years!

Double Dang! My dealer promptly delivered my new TC5000WN two days after purchase so I received it on July 11! :-(

Speed Queen Extends all Warranties to 10 years!

Dang! I purchased my TC5 washing machine less than two weeks ago on July 9!

    KAWE760W Load Capacity?

I've always figured that the friction from clothing hitting the agitator *and* other items of clothing in the tub generates the cleaning power. Always trying to get the balance of water and clothing at optimum.

    KAWE760W Load Capacity?

Thanks to all for the feedback. It's just my wife and I, so really large loads rarely happen. When we do get really dirty clothes, it's usually just a few jeans and T-shirts, so I figure doing them by themselves with a full tank of water should turn out OK.

How much liquid HE detergent to use in new Speed Queen top load with agitator?

Good points. Thanks for the advice to consider the new model SQ closer to the old style of full-fill top load machines. Regarding the Eco/Normal option having only the spray rinse, not the fill/agitate rinse: while this is true if you have "Options" set to "Off", if you set Options to "Extra...

How much liquid HE detergent to use in new Speed Queen top load with agitator?

Thanks for the tip re: testing the water with my fingers. It's a good start. FWIW, we do have a water softener following the acid neutralizer setup on our well water, so that should reduce the amount of detergent needed.

How much liquid HE detergent to use in new Speed Queen top load with agitator?

I have a new Speed Queen TC5000WN (AWN632SP116TW01) washer that comes with a full-height agitator, not the small bottom paddles in the 2018 Speed Queen TC models and most other brands/models have. I'm trying to figure out how much detergent to use and yes, I know that there are lots of...

    KAWE760W Load Capacity?

Anyone know what was the advertised load capacity of our recently-deceased Kitchenaid KAWE760W washing machine purchased new in 1991? We just replaced that machine with a new Speed Queen TC5000WN with an advertised capacity of 3.2 cu/ft and would swear that there is more room in the tub than...

    New Speed Queen TC5

Testing the "rapid advance to final spin/drain" opti FWIW: I just tested the procedure to enable a rapid advance to final spin/drain as noted in a March 2018 Field Bulletin issued by SQ in regards to their TC and TR line of washers. It definitely works with the the new TC5000WN...

I follow both forums. Please excuse me, but I don't understand your concern; have I missed the fact the everyone that is here at automaticwasher.org is also at fixitnow.com and vice versa?
