    Maytag Pair Up For Trade

Hello again: I have a top-of-the-line Maytag pair with the 1966-styling, assume it's from the mid-1970's as it's Harvest gold. Don't know why I bought this particular pair as (1) the dryer is gas and I don't have a gas hook-up, and (2) the Harvest gold color never appealed to me, but the price...

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

Happy New Year My only question would be, and not for the sake of continuing the John and Blanche Bickerson routine, what happens if two or more club members are vying for the same auction win? My main wish is that everybody has a much happier and healthier year in 2005 than 2004 has been to...

    Lady Kenmore 1950's Wringer--VISIMATIC

Ten Dollar Deal! On that basis, yes, I guess an opening bid of $350 for the Kenmore wringer is a bit much! It's just that I don't know when the last time was I saw a vintage anything in the way of appliances in this area, so I figured the rarity of the model might have some bearing on the price.

    Not another Kenmore!!

Nice KM; Coppertone color What a beauty of a Kenmore! Congrats! Reminds me a lot of the 1964 Lady Kenmore pair that my mother's original neighbors down the street had; purchased the following autumn after their summer of 1963 marriage. By the way, was the 1964 model year the first year that...

    POD-57 WP Imperial

Changes from 1958 to 1959 Seems as though the years from 1958 to 1959 were the years for major changes even in the auto industry; as with the change from the button-operated lids on the Whirlpools, the 1959 GM models had much more cheaply manufactured interior door handles and a lot of other...

    Lady Kenmore 1950's Wringer--VISIMATIC

Wringer prices I thought the "gentle hands" sounded a little out of context in connection with a machine manufactured by a company with the name "Thor"! As for the price on the Lady Kenmore, do you think it is way over-priced? I was half thinking about making a bid, as though I have room for...

Whirlpool change from round to flat-front cabinet Without meaning to insult any fans of Kenmore (and I love 'em all), was the change from the rounded cabinet to the flat cabinet by Whirlpool early on somewhat of a modernization for those who were more financially affluent? Kenmore being sold by...

    Shopping for a new classic

I'll toss a hat into the ring... If the V16 by itself or in a set won't be repaired and will be up for sale, I'll take my place in line as probably at least the 25th person who would like to buy! On my last walk through a home improvement center, I detoured through the washer/dryer section of...

    Lady Kenmore 1950's Wringer--VISIMATIC

Don't know if anybody is into wringer models, but there's a c.1955 pink/white Lady Kenmore wringer up for auction just today. I'm wondering if it's through that Affordable Appliance Company as the auction location is said to be West Chester, PA. They also have an early 1950's Speed Queen wringer...

1958 - 59 styling changes I have a copy of an ad for the 1958 top-of-the-line Whirlpool on my computer at work, but I don't think it's big enough to show the console details. I also have some pictures of an actual 1959 Whirlpool Imperial; it seems to me that the 1959 Imperial more closely...

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

Fair Fight? "Fair fight"? Apparently Bethann missed the one posting by the one member who said he/she would have snipered had he/she entered the auction. Snipering doesn't sound anything like any meaning of the word "fair" that I've ever known. Also doesn't sound anything like "camaraderie."...

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

Camaraderie Bethann claims there's camaraderie in a club where people admit they "ignore the noobs for awhile"? Apparently there's camaraderie only after the "noobs" have proven themselves "worthy"? And, who is in charge of deciding worthiness? Bethann?

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

Who's asking whom about being touchy?! I guess I have a differing viewpoint from that of the others. I didn't feel I was making "calls," but that I was asking the reason for that type of "discussion," and for people to consider the way it might come across. Maybe I haven't been around long...

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

Seems like the "long way around the barn" of saying "better luck next time." Begins to sound too much like the background conversations I hear at work when somebody loses out on the last pair of shoes or some other "must-have" item at a bargain sale. Maybe it's my perception: I just felt that a...

1959 Kenmore "Frog Eye" Washer - Texas

I feel the need to I'm fairly certain we've all won items that others would also like to have won and, on the flip side, we've all lost out on items that we'd like to have won. Lots of people have found or won washers/dryers that I'd give anything to have found first, but I didn't behave like...
