Not sure when Sears introduced the first automatics, however, it was sometime in the early 60s that we had purchased the Lady Kenmore Washer-Dryer combination machine (vented gas dryer model).

In the 60s my favorite machine was the Sears Lady Kenmore combo; in the 70s and 80s, my favorite was the Westinghouse Heavy Duty front load washer with rear mounted controls/pushbuttons. I'm now using the Maytag Neptunes (front loading) since 1999.

Maytag Neptunes Wasn't this particular model the first Neptunes produced in 1997? I purchased the second model Neptunes in May of 1999 which has the "auto temp control" feature.
