Found recently Vintage Machines (about 5) and loads of parts.

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't see the message until today, but want to convey my sympathies. Like many on here have shared, I lost my Dad too. He was just a few months shy of turning 61 back in 2002 when he passed. It is wonderful that you care enough about your Dad's things to try...

PINK Frigidaire & Hotpoint kitchen appliances!

On that dishwasher....is it just me... or is that plastic control/indicator dial just stuck on in front of the chrome trim ring instead of installed behind it? Given the fragile nature of those, I hope that whoever gets this beauty will take that off the stem before they transport it or put it...

    Hotpoint range updates....!!!!

Hello Hans! I wanted to compliment you on your stove, but just as much for the lovely cabinets I see in your picture. By any small chance do you know who the manufacturer is for those and is there a tag near the sink section? I noticed how much they look like my set that you saw when you were...

A time capsule opened and look what was inside...

The Country Squire..... To help it find a loving new home, I can post it on a Country Squire enthusiast page on Facebook that I belong to. If you would like to provide a name and contact phone number I will be happy to post it to the group along with the pictures. Who knows? It might be...

    Identification challenge....

Ok folks. First off this comes with no pics to go by, so I don't expect miracles. A friend of a friend just got a very nice looking (so I'm told) vintage Philco refrigerator (Model SMR6, Serial # 445181) as a freebie. It has the small interior freezer compartment over to the left side and the...

Spotted during a call... A Roto Broil 400

I have a Roto-Broil that appears to be complete.... with the exception of the detachable tray handle. Mine is packed up out in the garage so I don't have pics of it but it looks most like the one that rp2813 posted. I don't think mine was used but once or twice from the looks of the inside. I...

Looking for an ID on my late Aunt's Tappan.

Edit to my post above... I remembered that I had a picture of my friend's Mom's Tappan. I had the color wrong as it was more of an Almond color than Harvest. I recall the receipt for this one was dated May 1979.

Looking for an ID on my late Aunt's Tappan.

No offense taken - Thank you for the input Danemodsandy. Thanks Pat for clarifying the situation. I neglected to mention that the house was sold. Additionally it was soon remodeled inside and everything of my Aunt's in the kitchen was torn out so the stove was likely sent to the landfill back...

Looking for an ID on my late Aunt's Tappan.

Hi Members! I was going through some pictures of my late Aunt's house and found this one of her kitchen showing her late 1970s Tappan gas range with an upper and lower oven (non-microwave model). I remember that the white back splash area lit up. I can't remember the exact year she bought this...

Frigidaire Range and Fridge on Craigslist.

I didn't see this as being posted before, so if it's a duplicate, I apologize. Does the year 1956 look right to you all for this? I was thinking the straight line look didn't come along until 1957 or so. I hope someone gives these a home. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/app/4159130231.html

    1950's Pink Hotpoint Dishwasher

And the different start button. Mine is the only one I've seen thus far with this versus the big red button. BTW. Thanks for the clarification on the older racking system, Tomturbomatic! Not as cumbersome as I thought but the Roll-R-Rack was sure an improvement wasn't it?

    1950's Pink Hotpoint Dishwasher

Turquoisedude.... Imitation is the highest form of flattery! Please post pics of your Hotpoint all racked up with your dishes. Thanks for the suggestion on parts sources. Attached is a close up of my lighted indicator dial. This is the old one that was broken but I have a new one all ready...

    1950's Pink Hotpoint Dishwasher

William637.... That is a wonderful find!!! Hard to tell from the small picture but that one appears to be the exact same 1956-57 Spot-less Deluxe model that my late Aunt had in her house, except her's was white. Her's was the one that inspired my love for these units. I love my pink one, but...

    1950's Pink Hotpoint Dishwasher

Roll R Rack idea survived of course..... but I think the Reversible part disappeared in the TOL model (in '58) and stayed away, so I suppose they either got a better idea or (like you surmised) not many people needed that small flexibility. I figure the rolling upper rack idea was a huge sales...

Second pic... Shows the rack in the reversed position with it's little bottom sticking out from under the frame/handle.

    1950's Pink Hotpoint Dishwasher

CONGRATS!!!!! Ahhh, a fellow 56-58 Hotpoint DW owner!! Looks like a great machine, Turquoisedude. Speaking as a fan of the Hotpoints of this general style, I think it's a nice gem in your collection. More experienced members might be able to say for sure, but from all I've seen and pieced...

    1955-56 hotpoint dishwasher Something's missing

I thought so too, but... I learned when I bought this that some local codes required there to be this sort of air gap in the fill line to avoid some kind of back siphoning into the water supply. With there being pressure in the water lines I can't imagine that happening, but I am the first to...

    1955-56 hotpoint dishwasher Something's missing

Is this considered the..... "siphon break" you mentioned? I had noticed in the manuals (posted on here for the 1956s) that they used an overhead shower to fill the machine (and I assume this one has it too with that pipe that runs upward), but mine has the side fill. So neat to see the...
