    Maytag 806 unbalanced when empty!

I was also thinking damper pads, but there is no metal scraping it’s just unbalanced. I also noticed that there is a larger gap on the right side than the left side between the inner and outer tubs. I can fit all of my fingers in on the right side but barely one on the left side by the water inlet.

    Maytag 806 unbalanced when empty!

Hi Everyone! Perplexing issue with the ‘75 806. It’s unbalanced when it’s empty and super unbalanced with laundry in it. There’s nothing obviously out of place. Springs are good with tension and there’s nothing jammed between the tubs. It wobbles and clicks when it stops pretty noticeably with...

    Maytag 142S frying motors!

I’m figuring it’s almost impossible to find a replacement because of the suds saver. I would use it but I don’t have a basin near by for it to use.

    Maytag 142S frying motors!

Thanks John. I figured it HAD to be in the timer. The odds of the exact same problem with 2 motors are too low. Any recommendations on timer rebuilds or places that can do it?

    Maytag 142S frying motors!

I forgot to add that if I stop the timer and immediately restart it, everything works fine. The motor slides freely on the carriage.

    Maytag 142S frying motors!

Hi Everyone, So my beautiful Maytag 142S is frying motors! After the wash cycle and the cool down pause, it is not spinning and making the motor heat up. It fried one and it tried to fry a new motor, so I’m assuming this problem is in the timer somewhere? Maybe it’s telling to to turn in both...

Frigidaire dryer overheats when the back panel is on!

Do you have a link to the GE element? I get a bunch of results when I google, so not sure which one is the right one.

Frigidaire dryer overheats when the back panel is on!

The airflow is good but the back panel must slow it down just enough to over heat it. It won’t run more than 5 minutes on normal heat, but dries fine on gentle with the back panel off. The motor isn’t overheating at all, it’s the high temp on the heater element. I’m actually surprised at how...

Frigidaire dryer overheats when the back panel is on!

Just when I thought I had it all working perfectly. I put on the back panel and OVERHEAT! It works perfectly fine with it off and it’s almost like the airflow is being stifled. Does anyone have any ideas? Should the over heat sensor be insulated or what in the world else could it be?! This...

1957 Frigidaire dryer almost there! Now it’s over heating

I don’t think it’s the motor, because it will cold run (disconnect the heater) no problem and it will run on delicate with the back panel off without a problem. Click it to normal and it goes over temp real quickly. What do the 2 thermostats on the outlet do? One is a L110 and the other...

1957 Frigidaire dryer almost there! Now it’s over heating

Does anyone know the proper wattage of this dryer? I think that there is a possibility it has the wrong heater coils in it!

1957 Frigidaire dryer almost there! Now it’s over heating

Almost perfect! It’s got good airflow, everything working just fine but it over heats! I replaced the upper over temp thermostat and still overheats and shuts down. It will run for a while but once it stops it also over heats the thermostat and won’t start back up again until it cools down a...

    57 Frigidaire Dryer Fan Puzzle!

The plot thickens... So I got the GE centrifugal fan, but at 8” there’s no way it will fit through the opening into the housing. The opening on the housing, pic above, is 6”. Any leads on the exact parts or another solution? I appreciate all of the help!!

    57 Frigidaire Dryer Fan Puzzle!

I've come across some newer Frigidaire blowers and tons of GE's and even a metal Frigidaire blower. The housing is about 3x8, so the GE version would fit. Found a modern plastic Frigidaire that's 3x7.5 which should fit.

    57 Frigidaire Dryer Fan Puzzle!

Hi Everyone, Does any literature exist or does anyone know what the fan set up in an airflow (not the more common filtrator) Frigidaire dryer looks like? Is it a blade fan or a cage fan? This is the fan shroud, and unfortunately this dryer was moror-less upon arrival, but this is the motor...
