Dehumidifier or Tumble Dryer

Does the LG styler count as a drying cabinet? No mention of drying in its description, just steam.

Alexa saved my home and my pets from a fire

Smoke alarms that are connected to the outside world are a no-brainer these days. We added one for each floor to our existing SimpliSafe alarm setup after a friend lost a pet due to a small fire when they were not home. Smoke alarms only work when someone can respond to them. Glad that...

    Getting the family chariot washed

I go to a tunnel wash. I have an unlimited membership so that I can go every week in the winter, it’s well worth it. While Denver no longer salts the roads, they do use mag chloride, avoiding rust but pitting any chrome accents. So I like to go as often as possible.

    Bissell Crosswave

I have also used Mr Clean in mine. It needed just a tiny amount to do a good job, but I was still concerned about the foaming so I went and bought the Crosswave solution at Target (I agree the amazon price was insane) I found the cleanup process on the Crosswave to be a bit much, so it’s going...

added a maytag MVWP576KW ‘commercial’ top loader to our large family laundry setup

How about an LG gas dryer and stack it on top of the electric dryer using the official stacking kit? Then just indoor vent the electric dryer. You would have to remove the existing dryer pedestal of course. I’m sure someone will chime in if the stacking kit doesn’t work for dryer on dryer stacks.

My new LG 4000 series washer and dryer

The black steel model with rose gold trim has been great so far. Our criteria for purchasing were:

Turbo wash

Heater

Matching dryer in stock

LG WashTower Single Unit, 2 Drums

Dadoes is correct, the limited reversing seems odd. As an aside, I have the 4000 series turbo wash machines and am very happy with the performance and available options, save for the lack of steam/extra hot on towels but I just run those on heavy duty or bright whites as needed. The push...

garage HEATER from old Clothes DRYER gas or electric

You gotta admire the handiwork, guy did a great job. My only concern would be carbon monoxide but he says that it's not an issue--hopefully he has at least 2 CO alarms in his workshop.

GE portable dishwasher...is it worth it?

Looks like it has a small sprayer on the top of the tub based on the parts diagram. The specs also refer to a 5 level wash system which would indicate that as well. GE Nautilus is decently regarded around here. https://www.geappliances.com/appliance/GE-Nautilus-Convertible-Dishwasher-GSC3400GBB

LG is finally making "agitator" top loaders!

At the beginning of the video you can see this is the bedding cycle with normal soil. Deep fill is not selected, interestingly.

    Miele vs fisher and paykel

I've had good luck with powder by Cascade, and whatever the Target store brand is now. It's getting harder to find every time I go shopping though.

    Miele vs fisher and paykel

Love the dish drawer. Had the tall model + sanitize. I just bought a new house and have a new one arriving Monday as I left the last one in the old place. They’re fantastic and so ergonomic—adjusting to bending over to load a normal dishwasher seems nonsensical and archaic now.

    USB powered hub question

For a cheap solution, velcro cable management strips might help. For an expensive solution, a USB hub with locking ports and cables. https://www.sealevel.com/product/270u-optically-isolated-7-port-usb-hub-with-sealatch-usb-ports/
