I think a few on here know that I'm a free lance writer for a few assorted publications from time to time. I haven't written a single article in almost 2 years now. I stopped writing in order...

Maytag Orbital / Whirlpool DD hybrid

Look and you will see another thing that is Maytag...the screws on the bottom of the front. But one could see that such an access panel could also work on a DD Whirlpool. This all depends on how you go about changing motors and pumps on Whirlpools. I see no prob.

hows this for a "Bob-load" Ya gots competition bubba!

Rich, looks like half those dishes were either stolen or inherited. What's up? All kiddin' aside...I was never interested in dishwashers until I got to this site. Maybe because we rarely ran ours as I was growing up. I remember ours being brown in color. That's about all. I don't think we ran it...

I know you all don't know me very well, but.....

Davy, one poster comments on every one of your Dad's traits would be divided with the family. He already gave his eyes to you and your Daughter. This is very evident in the picture you posted. Let me ask you a question... "Do you teach that sweet Daughter of yours all that you know?" Like how to...

    Free -- On death row

Jaytag, I get my machines from quite a few different places. Alot come as trade-ins that are in need of repair. So I fix them and re-sell them. Some are just lucky finds from scrap dealers. Some are from people who know that I work on them and want thier old stuff hauled off because they have...

    Blue dye in Kenmore dryer

I remeber a post on here a couple of years back about a guy's Dad who had an old dryer, Kenmore maybe, that he exclusively used to tumble his pecans to polish them. I thought that to also be a nice gentle way of also polishing the drum. Noisy as hell but gentle. Never tried it. I have 3 pecan...

    Question

a440, I know my way around the biz pretty well but you did shed some light on some stuff for me too. I think back on some models that had a blank space where some of the same so-called model had a bleach dispenser. My Dad, who is a local legend in the biz, LOL, says that a Kenmore washer will...

All kiddin' aside, I know what you mean by the local store going bellyup. He probably desreved to. Not to be harsh but I sell my newer stuff wayyyy below what my...

Detergents from the late 70s / early 80s

Back about 10 years ago I used to go about once a week to help a 91 year old lady do her chores in the yard and house. She could get around pretty well for her age but did need help. Her cabinets were like a time capsule for detergents and other assorted products. She lived wayyyyyy out in the...

    Repair help....

Well I would say that the solenoid is bad on the spin side. If you can determine which solenoid is bad and you don't want to buy a new set then just take a solenoid off a water inlet solenoid and replace the bad one on the wig wag. This is easy if you have seen it done before but mostly folks...

    Detox/Rehab

As a recovering alcoholic and prescription drug addict I can tell you it is hard to overcome it all by yourself. I did but most can't. I was addicted to about 10 milligrams daily of xanax along with at least a 5th of some sort of hard liquor (whatever was on sale). I didn't go to meeting, never...
